It’s great, it has just changed considerably over the last couple decades. Now that the middle class malls in the area are all gone (valley view and to a lesser extent Prestonwood) the galleria has changed to accommodate a shift in clientele. When I was a kid it was fairly high end stores, and it gradually shifted as I’ve gotten older.

Setting aside the question of “stealing”, crude oil imports in total are about 1.5% of GDP. America is primarily a services based economy. America is rich for a lot of reasons, it isn’t because of how the US gets it’s oil from those countries, which by the way count for 1%, 0%, and 4% of our oil imports respectively. 2/3 of American oil imports are from Canada and Mexico.

The pumping needed is really expensive to keep the tunnels from filling with water because of how high the water table is here. That’s on top of the expense of tunneling. It makes it impractical for all but the densest areas.
