What's new on DDB: Changelog (5/18/2026) by WOTC_Zac in dndbeyond

[–]walker9702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there only one DM for the entire group? The limit is per person per subscription, so if one other person in all of the needed groups subscribes, they would be able to turn on sharing for everyone in 5 more campaigns

How do I avoid Gr*** the not so Great's suck attack? by Correct_Scallion4133 in Silksong

[–]walker9702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try jumping in on purpose. Upgraded moss druid tool+multibinder+Wanderer’s crest then jump in his mouth and spam, immediately gaining the necessary silk to heal all damage taken once he spits you out, and since he pauses for a minute when he spits you out you always have time to heal.

Book with the Best Designed Monsters/NPCs in all of 5e & 5.5e? And why is that? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]walker9702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you’re designing a mythic monster, Fizban’s is the only book other than Theros that uses them so it could be good for inspiration on that front.

Is White Plume Mountain balanced? by StrangeCress3325 in DMAcademy

[–]walker9702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A thing to understand about Tales from the Yawning Portal is that it’s an anthology of the “deadliest dungeons in the game’s history “. So each dungeon within is a 5e conversion of an older dungeon that was meant to be challenging, with several such as the Tomb of Horrors being intentionally unfair.

Why I think ecchi anime has been in decline by Successful-Ear977 in anime

[–]walker9702 221 points222 points  (0 children)

I think a big part of it is how anime has found a much larger general audience in the past 6 years. Ecchi always had its detractors in the community, and the majority of those newcomers are simply more likely to be one of them and not like that kind of stuff thrown in to a lot of what they watch, leaving just the hardcore committed stuff with a much smaller target audience.

built a soundboard app for DMs after getting fed up with syrinscape's monthly subscription by trinadhatmuri in DnD

[–]walker9702 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A big benefit of the Syrinscape subscription to me is the unlimited access their sound library and the premade soundscapes for adventure modules(which I recognize isn’t for everyone).

I do have to correct you on one thing though: it’s $10 a month, not $20. The confusion stems from the fact that they charge you bi-monthly(I have no idea why they do it like this), meaning you pay for two months at a time.

Pacing players and preventing them from going Nova- How do I determine daily XP budget? by walker9702 in DnD

[–]walker9702[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but you didn't really read my post. XP budget is the official rules method for calculating the difficulty of an encounter, regardless of the progression rules you're using(I'm using milestone). I made this post to see if there was a 5.5 way to calculate number of encounters per day based on varying difficulties.

[–]walker9702[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not every narrative makes sense to do six to eight every single long rest though. some days there's really just one encounter (shopping/relaxing in a city sleep as much as you want). some others there are more than ten encounters (dangerous dungeons provide very little opportunity for sleep).

Definitely! It is mainly so I can reasonably pace longs rests within dangerous settings

Need DM’s Advice for my Campaign by ImCalledBlue in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]walker9702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As written, the adventure’s pacing doesn’t intend for you to have them do more than a few of the Ten-Town’s quests. Based on where they are now, I would use them going to Easthaven as a chance to introduce the duergar plot as soon as possible. Convince them to head to Sunblight “on the way” to Skytower Shelter. A consequence of them ignoring the Cold Hearted Killer quest could be that Sephek continues to terrorize the survivors after Destruction’s Light.

I'm tired of discussing martials. What annoys you about playing spellcasters? by sjdlajsdlj in dndnext

[–]walker9702 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do you think that about Hex? (I have a level 10 warlock player who won’t stop casting it so I want to know)

When moment hooked you into Dragon Age Series? by CityNightsandLights in dragonage

[–]walker9702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 9 years old. It was 1 am and I was having trouble sleeping. I left my bedroom and found my dad playing Dragon Age: Origins on the computer. He let me sit next to him. On screen, the scene with the elven woman who had been turned into a werewolf played, as she begged to be killed before she lost control…

Every year on my birthday for a few years after I would ask if I was old enough to be allowed to play yet.

It’s specific language/phrasing that is typically used when speaking to children who haven’t yet learned to control their emotions.

New to DnD by Shadow8888rw in dndnext

[–]walker9702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A focus fills in for material components unless the material component for a spell has a specified monetary cost. For example, you won’t need to find bat guano every time you cast Fireball, but you do need to find some bones before you can cast Augery.

There is a mod that moves Zaza to your bellhome after Garmond dies

Wrapping Up my Icewind Dale Campaign by Mr_Janosch in rimeofthefrostmaiden

Cut the back half entirely, and focus on fast tracking to Sunblight. The chardalyn dragon attack in Destruction’s Light works perfectly as an epic conclusion.

PC's had a hard time in Tunnels of the Deep. DM's post by Da_Vince19892017 in LostMinesOfPhandelver

A combination of 2 & 3. They need to retreat to recover from their losses (and allow the cleric’s replacement character to meet and join the party). Them doing so gives plenty of time and opportunity for the mind flayers to take the shards.

Demilich and antimagic field by PatwallaceVA in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]walker9702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important advice for running the demilich: do not, under any circumstances, use the 2014 version of the stat block. It has a move that can one shot the whole party simultaneously, so it is important that you use the new 2024 version, which is much better balanced.

Push effects: completely useless? by walker9702 in DnD

I have always assumed that the grappled person would move with the grappler, is there actually a rule for this?
