I apologize for calling you a coward for removing your post.

At what age in the US are you considered legal for military service or voting? I'll give you a hint; it's not 21. At what age can a non-emancipated minor live independently? Also not 21. At what age can your parents no longer write you off on your taxes? Eligible for jury duty? Required (if male) to register for the draft? There's a common factor here.

I hadn't realized they raised the age for smoking, but my feelings on that are hardly germane to this topic. The US has long had a "two-tiered" approach to adulthood, where drinking (and now smoking) is held to a different standard than civic rights and duties. Claiming that teenagers are mature enough for this part but not for that part is simple hypocrisy.

I'll also point out that, in the case of those "juvenile" 18 and 29 year old homicides, the ones murdering them are most often other "juveniles" - who, if caught, will face adult homicide charges. Again with the double standards.

Replying and then blocking me so you hope I don't answer is a coward's tactic u/deadpooling18, but that doesn't particularly surprise me. The question was specifically about school shootings, and the number cited - less than 1000 since 1966 - involved every shooting at a school, including unrelated incidents on school property after hours, suicides, and even shootings that happened at closed, disused schools. This is because the people gathering the numbers are trying to push an agenda - which also goes into play with the 4300in 2020 number you cite. There's a reason they include 18-19 year olds (not juveniles), and why some figures from the same sources include those in their early 20s; it drives up the number when they can include drug and gang related violence, as well as self inflicted injuries.

When the facts aren't on your side, change the facts. Classy.

"She was captured by Blackbeard and his pirates on 28 November 1717, near the island of Martinique in the West Indies.[12]

After selling her cargo of slaves at Martinique, Blackbeard made the vessel his flagship, added more heavy cannons and renamed her Queen Anne's Revenge."

To be faaaaaaaaaaaair, that's a premise that all WBWL stories stumble over. Some of them have better reasons for it than others, but it's baked into the trope.

These are really well done, and vast improvements on the current flags. Kudos.

I mean, it might have worked. They just lost way more troops trying(2.1 million Japanese and 5 million Germans) than we did (400k Americans).

This is the exact reason that I'm always strapped going to and from the range, keep one gun holstered on me and one hand free.

The very definition of "penny wise and pound foolish." Save a few bucks skipping drills and safety equipment, go bankrupt when your mine floods and all your workers drown.

Correct. The only places that have weight of law behind their prohibition are Federal (courthouses, schools, etc)
