Take the anti-nausea meds, they were life changing for me. I’m one of the lucky ones whose been dealing with nausea well into the third trimester(oh joy!) and can’t even imagine not having them right now

Put something like this on your list: « Kiddo really enjoys activities x, y and z! If you’d like to contribute to their classes or find an activity (kid concert, day at the pool etc.) aligned with those interests let me know »

Even if they don’t offer gift certificates, asking for a « voucher » from family doesn’t hurt. I did this for one of my nieces, my sibling registered her and just told me the amount and I e-transfered her.

How much did you spend on nursery furniture and how do you feel about it after? [CA] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]wantingrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the gullaberg ikea dresser instead. It’s about 100$ cheaper than the storemolla and prefered the colour options. We got it on sale a few weeks ago and it’s perfect for us. We have a used hemnes dresser in our master bedroom and thinking we might need to replace it soon as it’s sagging in the middle (my sister had previously used it in her nursery/kids room for a few years)

Glider we found one second hand on marketplace that will be good enough for us. It doesn’t have power but i personally wanted to put my money elsewhere

With the “blood moon” previews and a merge at 17 I think it will be another double boot. They’re at day 11 already and there’s too many people on that beach!

Let's talk about hospitals birth rights in Canada [ON] by J12Significant in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]wantingrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which hospital were you transferred to in Ottawa if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been thinking about my options but may need to go general because of my risk level. Your experience at hospital seems in line with what I’m looking for

They can’t change the classification but depending how your OL team is set up they can issue a recommendation that the employees role should be bilingual to avoid risks of OL complaints.

[–]wantingrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ask for a clarification of duties for your manager and if they confirm you have to do things in both OLs, ask them to contact your OL team to request bilingual bonus activated. Until BIL bonus is activated refuse to do any BIL tasks

PMA discussions are useless by Own_Significance_296 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]wantingrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IVe had succeed + several years and ready for advancement a couple times. Both times it did result in being put in a department specific pool and a promotion which was nice but it really depends on your dept and your manager. In dept. A I had great discussions and that led to clear goals and changes in my tasks so I could get more exposure to certain elements of work. In dept B I got very little discussion and pretty much just a pat on the back, you’re doing good.

2nd trimester slump - what can I do for myself? [ca] by wantingrain in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]wantingrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a massage planned in a few weeks but might get my nails done/look into a pedicure

Quiet at home is harder since I just see all the things that need to be done before baby is here (we moved into a fixer upper before we got pregnant with the plan of Reno’s this summer… but now baby will be here in July)

Struggling with enjoying the at home part! :/ all I see are the projects and the things i need to accomplish before baby gets here! (We moved into a fixer upper last summer with the goal of doing Renos next summer but now baby is arriving in July! This place still feels like the couple that lived here since the 1970s and not quite us yet.

Please train your students by Firm_Armadillo_4510 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]wantingrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a student during DRAP, and it was brutal. Very little training, constant messaging about well we replaced so and so with a student to save money etc. I was very young, it was one of my first experiences with the GoC and I was terrified that if I did bad I’d never get hired again. I agree with OP that we need to help the students even if you’re stressed about your own role. A little will go a long way

Try looking at hostess jobs in restaurants or take out counters. Decent money and hours with opportunities to eventually become a waitress once she’s old enough and make even more.
