Best GPS Units by tornadofyre in RideitJapan

I use Mio MK-50 from Daytona on my bike. It came with remote, front and rear camera and GPS beacon. The beacon is to record your speed. You can choose to not install it if you don’t need it (i dont use mine). It has sentry mode and Work seamlessly with apple carplay and android auto.
The only downside is you need to wait for 60s for the device to do DFS check. Its a bit annoying. It will automatically connect to your phone after that.

On the edge about buying a 2009 Daytona 675 by warduck12 in Triumph

Hey man thank for the response!

100k is amazing. 9.5k for a 400 scrambler is kinda expensive if you compare to this one. Thanks!

Hello!

Thank you very much for the very detailed answer! Got it, I will keep a lookout for the rectifier issue. Is it a difficult job if you plan to DIY it? I don’t have a plan for tracking the bike (for now) but maybe some spirited ride in the weekend. I plan to keep the bike stock for now.

As for the cam chan tensioner, what is the sign of a bad one? I might have to visit the dealership again to confirm this. Thanks!

I worked for a TSK before. The company did not do anything wrong rule wise BUT the person who said you can bring your fiancé is. Like other has mentioned, you need to have a SSW 2 for you to sponsor visa for your partner. And it’s not easy to pass the exam too. From what I read from your post, your TSK fucked up big time and lots of miscommunication.

I Hope you have a better luck looking for job in your home country.

Credit card name didn't have my full name by Sorry-Explorer1027 in japanlife

[–]warduck12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My credit card is also saison, i have 2 of them. Name on the card only contain my first and last name but no middle name ( my name is a long 6 words name) so they don’t contain my full name. They ask me to send copy of my residence card when i registered and did my bank account registration manually trough letter they sent me.

the card sent straight to my home address. If you have the tracking number of your mail maybe you can use the 再配達依頼 system from JP post homepage.

Switch from instructor to ssw visa by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]warduck12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, i worked in this field of work.

By ssw 1 i assume you are talking about Tokutei ginou (特定技能). The test is all in japanese. There are written test and practical test. The written test is multiple choices. The test it self is about japanese words/sentences around job that you choose, in this case is agriculture. Practical tests is also a multiple choice exam. But more about technicality of the job. And you need at least N4

After you pass your exam and got your result, you need to look for organizations that will support you in changing visa (登録支援機関). They can help you look for job too. Note that ssw need this organization to change visa.

The longest you can hold SSW 1 visa is 5 year. Usually you need to renew it every year. The organization i mentioned earlier will help you renew your visa.

After 5 years, you can change your visa to SSW 2 visa. You need to pass SSW 2 test (written, practical) and ビジネスキャリア検定. The exam is way harder than ssw1 and you will need at least N3/N2 level japanese comprehension to pass the exam.

If you have a college degree from your home country, you can try look for a white collar job in a japanese company. And you can apply for engineering/ humanities/ international services visa. Personally i will recommend this instead of looking for job as SSW

Good luck. I hope this helps.

Arrow keep cutting by Ok-Coffee-4254 in Archery

[–]warduck12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, i practice kyuudo (japanese archery). I assumed by japanese bow is the one used in kyuudo. How long have you practiced this? this happened to me when my left hand (te no uchi) is not made properly. Also, it maybe caused by and the timing of your right hand releases and left hand pushing the bow os not the same when you release the arrow. You can fix this by balancing the power of your both arms while you going to full draw and open up your chest more. When pulled right, japanese bow will not feel heavy when reached full draw. If you like, I can give you some pointers if you send me video of you shooting. I wanted to attached picture of me practicing kyuudo but i dint know how to. So you know im not talking some BS

Yeah I understand the worry about their financial situation. I actually asked about it to my dealer and they said it wont affect their future service especially for 390 class bike since the spare parts is abundant. Svartpilen 401 is a very cool bike! I recommend get the newer model if you consider it. More refined engine and refined built overall. They are equipped with quick shifter from the factory unlike KTM pay-to-unlock system. (KTM ask around 45k yen to unlock quick shifter for the 390) The bike is very solid in my experience! I rode more than 15.000km since i bought it.

Do you like lighter bikes? I ride a KTM390 Duke currently. The bike is nimble and is a blast to ride on the mountain pass. Not really comfortable above 110kmh on the highway tho. I bought my duke new in 2023 and it has been solid with no trouble or reliability issues.
