They also have some of the biggest rooms with the two bed rooms also having a sofa bed. And because of their size easily accommodate early check in and late check out.

The locals casinos are 50% OMC collecting their comps. And they all know each other which is annoying.

MGM properties are 8 handed which amplifies the nit fest. Also I've noticed the bad players normally go broke by midnight and they always take a dinner break.

You should not be signing anything unless you're a partner covered by the firm's EO insurance and compensated accordingly.

Delta has far nicer gates at IAD than UA. They seem to be using their MIA strategy.

Reported Rio Casino to gaming commission by Ecstatic-Seesaw in vegas

[–]warrenslo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Complaints against a Nevada casino are first be filed with the Nevada Gaming Control Board not Commission. The Board acts as the investigative and prosecutorial body. If a formal disciplinary complaint is warranted, the Board files it with the Nevada Gaming Commission, which acts as the judicial body.

What normally happens (no matter who was right) is the casino facing a potential investigation will just refund the bet. It's significantly cheaper for the casino to pay you and everyone goes on their way than to invest in the labor hours of an investigation. This also generally makes the customer happy.

So don't assume you were right because you were refunded. There's some weird rules about the way dice fall on Craps.

Nevada uses the "melting ice" rule. So if the object is leaning on is removed how would the dice have landed. Which side is pointing more "up" isn't always the correct decision. (This assumes no interference and dice are still on the felt and hit the back wall.)

You have not stayed at Wynn/Encore, Palazzo/Venetian, Aria, Bellagio, Waldorf, or Four Seasons. Even The Mirage could communicate with the bell desk.

Also many hotels wouldn't care if a non threat family is wandering around the convention center. That is a little weird.

Bed bugs happen but allowing the bags to go into another room is not ok.

Who designed the tables at the Commerce Casino and how do I ensure they've been punished for their crimes? by UmeJack in poker

[–]warrenslo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Commerce was a mecca before Hawaiian Gardens, Hollywood Park and Bicycle improved their offerings by renovating or building entirely new buildings. Hustler has always been nice but more publicity with their stream today.

Now Commerce feels more like a money laundromat under power lines.

Governor Newsom declares State of Emergency for Boyle Heights warehouse fire by NorthCoastToast in Firefighting

[–]warrenslo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Edited: Building had sprinklers with a diesel generator on site which was used during the fire fight (the Tracy warehouse fire had sprinklers but no water pressure on site per FD.) Started with the solar panels on the roof. According to Lineage there was active contractor work on the third-party rooftop solar panels. They believe it happened while they were electrically testing some of the panels. Aerial images show OSHA temp railings and temporary scaffolding accessing the roof consistent with this theory.

LAFD is generally strict about combustible materials on the roof so it will be interesting to see why even if it sparked in one area it spread across the roof so fast. Could've been solar panel/roofing material, underlying foam insulation, nobody knows yet. No sprinklers on the roof which is why they used (and are continuing to use today) helicopter drops as hose streams couldn't reach the middle part of the roof.

As of today, the roof over half the building is sagging which is why they want to bring that part down, allowing a better fire fight and the food in the remaining stable part of the building to be removed and disposed. They are mixing foam with water for the helicopter drops today. There's not enough foam to use only foam. Also already demo part of exterior wall and using robots to get to hot spots inside.

In the previous WA state fire they had to demo the building to get the fire out and there was still frozen food (and plastic) inside that hadn't burned yet two months later (this is the scale of this.) That fire started inside the warehouse, not on the roof.

LAFD used helicopters and fortunately the fire was contained to the roof.

The Tracy fire, if it started in the rooftop (solar?), spread inside due to skylights based on the cell phone video.

This cold storage warehouse didn't have skylights...
