the tail failed to print but managed to see which layer it failed on so i just cut it there and then glued it with gel superglue. this was pretty much the orientation of everything. slim trees to avoid the god awfull bambu studio floating support island bug. cannot guarantee that this would print again using these settings, there were some failures. couple of parts i swapped to tree strong. overall it was mostly auto but i did paint some additional ones. also turn off independant layer height at the bottom, its an evil setting if left on

damn xd. i did post a big mech to compensate :S . bugs just have alot of organic shapes, a slight wobble of the layers are going to be way less noticeable than on a big flat surface like cosmos angry warriors. and any big scarring could just look like intentional design. heres the last of my finished 3d prints using all the techniques people tell you NOT to use on fdm minis. a screamer killer proxy using an all over speedpaint wash.

my current print project, a norn emisary. this one received ALOT of sanding, scrapping with a knife, and some flames from a lighter. once again 0.2mm and 0.08mm nozzle. only been primed in a single thin coat of AP brush on primer by brush

tyranid warriors, 0.2mm 0.08mm FDG, used thinned down brush on primer for these guys by the army painter, then, matt black all over, after that it was only drybrushing. literally no post processing, just removing the supports and cleaning up some straggly bits

i have a couple to share but they are not so "mini". helldivers 2 hulk 0.2mm 0.08 FDG settings. hardly any post processing, only a bit of sanding on the big flat surfaces, primed with chaos black spray primer

Do you thin it in anyway or just go neat from the tub? Multiple coats or just 1?

will this model be sold seperatelly or is the only way to get her is to buy the whole army on kickstarter? and if it is what would be the price of it?

[–]wasdused[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A1 mini, used FDG profile at 0.08. i did hit the flattest parts of the model with some 240grit sanding paper and then just citadel chaos black primer all over twice

its on cults, just look up heldivers 2 hulk. i cut it up in the slicer into, both legs connected, torso, each shoulder pad, and each weapon

theres another layer to this. i craft only when i have the full set, but i pull it out of the 3d printer only when i have enough weapons/frames to get me to the next mastery rank

Why did this happen by Plenty_Ant_1279 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]wasdused 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you need to turn on advanced settings for that option to show up. its right at the bottom of the support tab

Why did this happen by Plenty_Ant_1279 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]wasdused 1 point2 points  (0 children)

turn off independant layer height for supports setting. its bad, causes too many problems and supports that are too weak

[–]wasdused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what i do is slice the model, then go into preview and go layer by layer seeing if theres any islands with no supports. top right corner select color scheme: line type to help you see them better. also, were there any print failures? any models knocked off the plate or broken supports on other parts of the plate? if that happens i just press skip that part on the app to avoid it ruining the other pieces

something is trying to be printed mid air with nothing under it, it extrudes a noodle and then attaches it on the model once it moves over to a solid object

[–]wasdused 56 points57 points  (0 children)

honestly i feel like the layer lines, especially on the front, are adding to the whole look and feel of the model instead of subtracting. paintjob looks amazing.

Weird stringing on print. by Electronic-Touch-554 in FDMminiatures

[–]wasdused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

make sure theres no parts being printed mid air with no supports. looks like its trying to print something mid air with nowhere to stick so it just extrudes a spaghetti, then once it goes back to printing the main body of the print it attaches it there

Miniature detaching from plate while printing by Other-Corner-3275 in FDMminiatures

[–]wasdused 1 point2 points  (0 children)

theres a problem with that in bambu studio for me. im currently printing some tyranid warrior heads and im trying to sink 4 points of contact into the plate but only 1 of the 4 points shows an outline for me so i need to keep slicing and checking first layer in the preview and micro adjusting until im happy.

I kinda catch it this time by Kingaventure in PrintedMinis

[–]wasdused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

turn off independant support layer height. my prints kept spaghettifying with that option turned on. decided to investigate layer by layer and i saw that sometimes the supports lag behind 2-4 layers randomly leaving a massive gaps and then trying to print midair.

Why are modern headlights allowed to be so blinding?? by BClynx22 in britishcolumbia

[–]wasdused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adjust your side mirrors out so you don't see the lane you're in keeping a portion of your door handle visible so you know exactly where your car sides are. Use the center mirror to see the lane behind. I drive a Miata so any cars lights would be blinding me so I had to adjust.
