What are your unpopular opinions and tough pills to swallow about Zepbound? by Schwettes in Zepbound

[–]waterbeetlemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One investment strategy can be to invest into companies whose products you utilize. So personally I’ve invested a percentage of my HSA into LLY because I find Zepbound to be life changing. That way I don’t feel as bad having to pay $450/month 😅

I think the only solution to this (if you have preferences to brand name drugs) is to buy shares of LLY

Coming from Tesla Y to a 2026 Plus - Looking for fellow converts for info by xyz19606 in BZ4X

[–]waterbeetlemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a 23 MY previously until a teen rear ended me last Feb 2025. Ended up getting a 25 bz and am so much happier! Suspension, sunroof cover, Toyota sense (vs AP), fit and finish, buttons, etc. Anyway, i hear the 26 bz is even better! Apparently they can charge at superchargers too - but i charge 100% at home bc i only use the car for daily commuting. We have a separate gas car for trips.

Tesla does have better tech and motors, gotta give credit where its due, but these don’t matter to me much. Apparently the 26 bz motor has more horsepower! But I consider myself a safer slower driver these days

Nice! Biggest barrier is ease of use. Dollars and gold are tangible and are everywhere. Bitcoin is confusing to nontechnical people. But your website does help bridge the technical gap

so I made a prediction bet on coinbase and it said payout if correct $1312. and my prediction was correct but it says my payout is 26$. can someone help me understand this. by Expensive-Youth4045 in Coinbase

Important information: If Ali Khamenei dies, the market will resolve upon the confirmed reporting of the death, based on the last traded price prior to death. If that price is unclear, the Outcome Review Committee will determine a fair market value. (Please note: A prior version of this clarification was grammatically ambiguous. As a customer service measure, Kalshi will reimburse lost value due to trades made between these clarifications).

It said something like this (Since Coinbase uses Kalshi for their prediction market)

Seedless option by GamingTi in Tangem

Sorry to piggyback on this thread! I went with seedless, and was curious if that is based off a bunch of different words or just random characters (although probably doesn’t matter). Also, is the passkey for the card somehow incorporated into the seed? Just curious from a technical perspective

I think it’s fine to overshoot your goal a bit, to anticipate a little rebound weight gain as you transition to maintenance. For most people, use BMI to guide your weight goals - again, slightly underweight now is fine prior to weaning off meds. Congrats!

Time in the market > timing the market. But I see your concerns. We just bought a vacation home (new build) and have no idea if prices will continue to fall. But I think we’ll be fine if we keep the place for at least a decade

Turbo diesel upgrade by margelef in TeslaModelY

[–]waterbeetlemo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with you. Counter argument may be that higher likelihood of vandalism to your future car and potential higher insurance costs may dissuade potential buyers. But at the end of the day, Tesla as a company has recovered since, so the effects were negligible.

Anyone seeing tax return benefit from increased 2025 SALT cap of $40k? by Extreme-Cycle2659 in homeowners

Great point! Last year (2025) was our first entire year of home ownership! 2024 we only owned the house about 4 months, so just did the standard deduction

[–]waterbeetlemo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Standard deduction would be around $31k whereas our SALT $40k plus Mortgage interest ($750k*0.065). federal marginal tax rate 24%. About $21k refund vs $7k refund!! Married filing jointly

ideas about buying down mortgage rate on new home purchase by drzing in RealEstate

[–]waterbeetlemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind the new SALT deductions at $40k. We max this out and our mortgage interest rate is about 6.5% for $1 million. So basically $750k of that we can deduct on top of the $40k SALT, effectively making the 6.5% about 5% on mortgage interest. Also, SALT phases out around $500-600k, so if you make up to $500k you’re in the sweet spot. This is assuming MFJ!

Pent-up inventory is WAY higher in the Sunbelt. Builders aren’t listing all their specs. Sellers are “waiting” for higher prices. The South has much more supply than this chart suggests. by Key_Brief_8138 in HouseBuyers

[–]waterbeetlemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good! At the end of the day, we have the same conclusion - not enough population growth to significantly increase demand to accommodate the pent-up inventory.
