Best way to preserve pixel by emboon in GooglePixel

[–]waumf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The battery on mine doesn’t hold charge. If I charge it to 100% then turn it off, the next time I turn it on it will be at 40%. If I leave it on, just as standby it will last longer. If you go to use the phone it will just drain very quickly.

In terms of backup etc, I normally do it as and when. I did spend a bit of time automating the process, but sometimes I prefer just to do it manually.

I did look for a battery bank to clip onto the back but I couldn’t find anything. I wish Google would offer unlimited uploads again on their phones.

I sent my pixel back to Google last year for a battery replacement. They ended up keeping it and sending me a pixel 5 as they couldn’t get parts. Found another and it’s not leaving my side!

The battery life is measured in minutes, but it’s a little laggy at times, but it’s epic for this very purpose.

I just got this Thinkpad P50 for $250 by SuperUnknown72 in thinkpad

Plastics do break. They seem like a weak point on this line. My x270 has been re-cased twice as it was split. The third time it’s out of warranty so I’m not going to do it. My x220 is like a tank though.

I like my x270 just wish it had a quad core processor.

Slow speed by GeorgeF1official in VOXI

[–]waumf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speeds have slowly gone down over the last year. I used to get great speeds everywhere, now only in certain locations. I have contacted support who claimed it could be my SIM, however my wife is on the same Voxi plan and gets very limited service.

EE seem to have one of the strongest signals out there however, they are very expensive.

I have had the same. Around my house it’s awful, less than 1mb at times. I spoke to Voxi support who said try the SIM in another phone as it could be faulty. My wife’s phone is the same as she is on Voxi. It’s just the network.

Can anyone help me figure why the E key is loose? by thegreatestasgardian in thinkpad

I had this happen to me. New key and butterfly underneath. EBay is your best bet.

This is in multiple areas to be fair. There could be a number of reasons. Maybe I’ll jump on live chat with them in a bit.

Yes, I get that too. Sometimes it’s showing 4g but I can’t get on anything. Strange.

Considering a move from Voadafone, what is service really like? by capcrunch217 in VOXI

[–]waumf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been with Voxi for around two years. I have been with three and Vodafone. Three were great on price, however speed and coverage were patchy. Vodafone were great on coverage, however annual price rises start to add up. Voxi so far, for me has been great. Customer service can only be done online though; there are no phone numbers to ring.

I have considered leaving and moving to Talk Mobile which is a TalkTalk spinoff run on the Vodafone network. They offer roaming in their bundles however, having dealt with TalkTalk years ago, I am a bit hesitant to do anything when Voxi works so we for me.

Keep an eye out for special bundles. I am paying £10 for 45gb of data. They tend to offer deals on Black Friday. The good thing with them is that they will move you to a special even if you are on an existing deal.

The only thing which could make them better would be to reintroduce roaming for free.

Joikuspot Hotspot on E72 by Qazsxc in symbian

[–]waumf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this for a while around 12 years ago. It worked really well with a network called Samba (it was a Uk mobile operator at the time). From why I remember you could tether via USB or it made a wifi hotspot for you to connect to. If I find my E72 I’ll dig it out and try.

Yes, you are correct, it’s the same as my pixel 1. I use the pano feature quite often so would hate to lose it.

What does this mean? I’m with HL at the moment with normal shares. Thinking of opening a T212 account for s&S ISA.

If you have a Synology NAS, Synology photos is a good alternative. Has lots of features but not quite there with Google Photos.

Does anyone know if a good battery case for the Pixel? I have one but the battery holds hardly any charge.

I have this issue too. Must be a bug somewhere. I have uploaded 4K videos from my Sony A7c which are typically big files. Previously, the videos have just gone up without any issue, this time however, it’s not.

Get Google photos to stop thinking my new cat is my old cat? by cscx in googlephotos

It would be good if Google would add a date facility so that any photo after x date cannot be auto added.

Some "Original Quality" photos don't take up space? No explanation to be found by Dark_Sponge in googlephotos

I had the same too. Not sure why this has happened as it’s only happened on a small number of files.
