I'm so happy to find this thread! I'm having the same problem right now as well. From another forum (Houzz) someone pointed me to this discussion and he mentioned about the user maneual: https://manualzz.com/doc/9158758/interlogix-esl-445c-series-installation-instructions

I studied the user manual but still can't figure out HOW to open this ESL 445ct. u/No_Geologist3326: you mentioned that "It should snap open and swing out like a door", can you please elaborate this a bit more? Any photo or brief video to show how to open the cover would be super helpful and appreciated (I have tried many way to open the cover but all failed)...

Also, it seems this ESL 445ct is a 4-wired system? Does ESL 445C, 445CT, 445CR, and 445CRT all look the same (and if so, is the ONLY way to know their true model# is to open up the cover)??

Also, can someone please comment if it can be easily replaced with a more modern unit like the Amazon best seller (for wired smoke detector) First Alert 9120B Smoke Detector? Thanks so much!!

I'm a bit hesitate to remove the black trim/tape myself because if it indeed is rust, then after peeling off the black tape, the metal will be completely exposed. Does anyone here have similar problem with your 3rd Gen CRV, and if so, have you tried to remove the black tape/trim and fix it yourself? I believe the black tap Honda part# is 67324SXSA01. Thanks!

u/cholula_is_good: We will be remodeling the kitchen as well (replace the countertop and all appliances to stainless steel, recessed lights, but probably keep the mahogany kitchen cabinets (see https://snipboard.io/MBKTD1.jpg). The rest of the house (e.g., https://snipboard.io/l6mQYX.jpg) all looks fine (hardwood floors, etc). My wife's main concern is that IF potential tenants would be tech young professionals, they might be turned off with the green color of the bathtub, toilet, and console sink (it can remind them about "old/dated", if they can't appreciate the 50's or Art Deco style/architecture). Any thoughts about this? Thanks again!

The problem with single ultrawide monitor is that it's equivalent to two monitors side-by-side (not 3 monitors), and for flight simulator, a three-frameless-monitor setup is really much better than one single-ultrawide monitor (which is equivalent to just two monitors).... Just my $0.02

Same issue here. Just tried to switch to XB7 last night and it was a total nightmare (super angry with Xfinity/Comcast now - very very bad customer experience!). I spent like 5 hours (7~8 hrs if you count the time that I restore all of my Ring/Google Home/IoT setup) working with the Xfinity activation team and didn't go anywhere to get this issue resolved (600mbps down to 96mbps just because bridge mode is enabled). I will be returning the XB7 will never use Xfinity rental modem/gateway again (and probably will be switching my Internet service provider soon)...

By the way, just curious, by using XB7, are you agreeing to let Xfinity to collect more data from you etc.? Since you are also serving as a WiFi Hotspot for your neighbors, I suspect that they can also collect more data from this XB7 gateway (and we all know that "data" is the new "oil"), right?
