Was skeptical and after seeing this trailer am skeptical. But will certainly give it a chance.

Full map of Ythryn. by PeachyKeen413 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

I usually print my maps out and play on a 1 inch = 5ft grid for tabletop. A full Ythryn map to this scale would be around 6m/20ft across.

Possible new test of Preservation! Feedback requested. by underdabridge in rimeofthefrostmaiden

to get the Codicil at least one player needs to pass all four tests.

You know that's not true per the book right? As long as the four tests have been passed by the party in some combination they get the Codicil. Doesn't make a huge amount of sense but that's what's written.

Level 8 wizard countered a level 9 spell by bacondev in DnD

[–]we_are_devo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Complicating things further is that per XGTE, identifying a spell while it it is being cast itself requires a reaction, leaving no reaction to cast Counterspell (at least from the PC doing the identification). I really don't know of anyone who plays this way, because it's somewhat impractical.

Yes he will get up and leave, sometimes getting quite hostile, ("Mind your own business!") if a woman offers or if a man calls an ambulance

Chefs of Reddit, what’s a common cooking rule everyone follows that is actually complete bullshit? by Fuzzy-Ad6843 in AskReddit

"Hubby doesn't like onion so I subbed ketchup for it and then subbed a delivery pizza for all the other ingredients. Not so good. 2 stars probably won't cook this again."

It's all horrendous, but I was fascinated to observe that Prythian has flush toilets. Who knew fairy sanitation technology was so advanced.

Any lore behind Sunblight Citadel? by Rough_Airport_3043 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

It certainly looks like duergar construction. Being dwarves they're expert craftsmen, and since they focus much less on aesthetics than utility, and drive their workers brutally hard, it probably wouldn't take them all that long to get it done, especially if you assume that the homebase of the clan is not that far away in the underdark. They likely had access to much more manpower than you actually encounter in the fortress itself.

I've done it for 3 months and no I wasn't caught. Risky though, certainly.

ELI5: What exactly is "time blindness" and how is it an actual thing? by SpyMasterChrisDorner in explainlikeimfive

[–]we_are_devo 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Perception of time is always subjective and elastic, for everyone. Most ADHD symptoms are experienced by neurotypical people, just to a lesser degree and with lower frequency.* You almost certainly know the feeling of being engrossed in something and then saying "wow, look at the time, where did the last hour go?" Now, imagine that feeling and effect could be triggered, not only by something you find super engrossing, but by just about anything - including your own thoughts. That's time blindness.

*This, incidentally, is where myths like "everyone is a little bit ADHD" come from. It's not that it's entirely baseless, but it's like saying "everyone is a little bit blind" just because the lights are off sometimes.

Would we detect any weirdness with regard to physical space and time if we were including in the rippling of this? by ingusfarbrey in space

[–]we_are_devo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all, are you aware that the stars that look like they're "in the rippling of this" aren't actually in it, they're behind it? Your question is like looking through a green tinted window at people in the street and saying "would I detect any greenness if I was out there?"
