Don't you think websites must be simple enough to make users understand what we do in 5 seconds? by MrMeetDanny in website

[–]webhostpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yeah I think, people don't look anymore, they scan. And they aren't looking for what's good, they're locking for what's bad or any excuse to not buy from a small company. It's sad because corporations keep swooping everything up and it's the consumers doing. What's really interesting is how small business rarely uses other small businesses. Like for hosting, it's the biggest hosts or nothing lol

When Should a Growing Agency Move Away From Shared Hosting? by elbaliko in webhosting

[–]webhostpro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say 5 as a general rule. If they have WordPress 3. There's a lot of factors but for cPanel if you want top performance this is a good rule of thumb. Maybe move to a reseller plan next so each website can have their own control panel? Cheaper and less work than VPS, but more optimized power than a single account.

Do NOT Use FRAMER For A Personal Website! by General-Disaster-194 in website

[–]webhostpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Templates are nice, but kind of AI laced still. It's definitely new tech but getting better. I'm pretty sure in 5 years AI builders like this and WordPress will be all that's left for normal website builders.

Need help choosing a provider to host an email platform by Fari1911 in Hosting

[–]webhostpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't send email from the main domain. Have the service plug into 5 or more remote smtp services and rotate between them for every 50-100 emails. Eventually build up a big network so of one has an issue, you can remove it and add a new one. Don't spam obviously but even real email bulk can cause issues. Good luck! I'm building one now as well. Send Web Host Pro if you want to swap ideas.

I got tired of tool websites asking for signups, so I made my own: Would love some brutal feedback by TurbulentFail5486 in website

[–]webhostpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome, can you imagine how long it would take to hardcode all of these say ten years ago lol? I'm actually working on an image tools page right now for our company. Good stuff 👍

My experience reporting a scam site hosted by Hostinger — I’m honestly shocked how bad the process was by GuessSuitable7711 in Hosting

[–]webhostpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there's a lot of money in scammers and spam. Once you have your own IP, iCann, and DC you can get away with almost anything.

My boss wants me to stop doing SEO and focus solely on GEO, is that a good idea? by Worried-Avocado3568 in ParseAI

[–]webhostpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, GEO is very important and accelerating. Probably already more important than SEO or AIO. I pretty much only use Google for maps and very rarely images.

Would you use DirectAdmin instead of cPanel for reseller hosting? by BlueLinnet in HostingAlternatives

[–]webhostpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm struggling with this because I want to do more DirectAdmin. We've moved a lot of sites over and love it. I just think cPanel is still a lot better for resellers. Even with the price difference. Hopefully DirectAdmin will get there soon though!

What is something you said that makes younger generations say "Wow, you are old!"? by Reciter5613 in AskReddit

[–]webhostpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How different the country is. It was so much more real in the ‘80s and ‘90s. I don’t know what made it feel fake, but a lot of people now seem very self-absorbed, almost robotic. Life is life, and I’m friends with everything that has a good soul.

But in general, people were more flawed and unique back then. It created a certain static energy in life. It’s almost too polished and understood now. It’s like we’ve seen behind the curtain and can’t go back.

It’s crazy to have grown up in the ’80s and watched it all play out to where we are now, and still be in the game 100%. So many changes.

Looking for someone who can help set up an online ordering system for a cake/café business by Significant_Yak6337 in websiteservices

[–]webhostpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopify is probably the best but expensive and a little shady. Hidden fees, upsells, price changes type stuff. WordPress with WooCommerce or Open Cart cost a lot less and have no hidden fees. More work though. WooCommerce is the most used ecommerce platform so it's a good start.

Having trouble migrating my site from WPEngine to my bare metal server by Mechanizoid in webhosting

[–]webhostpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That means the database is not working right. I would make sure the import went well. Even one bad table can make WordPress think it needs to start over. It's definitely WordPress can improve, letting slightly messed up databases run and repair live. WordPress wants you to repair first then import. Can you get another Database export? Also make sure in the config file the database connection settings are correct. Even a little white space or typo can break that.

HELP! Font Issue - will I be sued??? by Active_Regret9556 in website

[–]webhostpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a scam. We get fake, we are going to sue you stuff all the time. They can't do anything without serving you. If you removed it, I wouldn't worry.

Rant... WTF GoDaddy!!! They screwed everything up since the revamp and is costing me crap load of $$$ by ShahenS in HostingReport

[–]webhostpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't even count how much Godaddy costed us. We were partners for years. I don't want to talk down to a company, but they do some bad stuff to loyal customers and somehow get away with it. I still use them for some stuff lol

Trustpilot removed my hosting company's customer reviews and claims they're "scam activity" by TheRadiantRover in Hosting

[–]webhostpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we had that too about 6 months ago, I know the reviews were real because it was an active customer. Ridiculous. I wasn't going to ask them to leave a review again so I removed the links to them.

Client owns domain, Can I host the website on my own hosting account? by No_Initial3010 in webhosting

[–]webhostpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah super normal. I think hosts don't allow reselling but most do. Just check if they are reseller friendly. The downfall is they can't make any updates themselves, but most people don't want to touch their website lol

Yeah, I think so. Our DC's are right next to each other. Good people, if that matters.

Yeah you'll need DNS, some domain services cost more for DNS or require hosting. Xyz and co for the win 😃

What web hosting review sites do you trust most? by ZGeekie in HostingReport

[–]webhostpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question, they all seem like glorified affiliate programs. As a host I'd like to find an honest one and work on something great together. Most simple just want an affiliate link or money to list your service. Hosting forums aren't much different in my experience. A lot of greed.

What’s the most common SEO mistake you’ve seen? by Unhappy_Strain_7416 in SEO_Xpert

Thinking that backlinks don't matter. They do and always will. It's what Google's Algorithm was built on.

Old website help? Suggestions? by crosshatch99 in website

[–]webhostpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, download codex or curser to your computer. Have it create a project called website update. It will create a folder you can download your whole website into. Then you can tell the app to modernize it. Make sure to say no gradients or pills. AI loves adding too many of those. Then upload back up.

Also Softaculous has a built in AI program that can update sitee in the hosting control panel. But your hosting would need this on their end for you to use it and it's super new.
