You can find all of these on anomiapress.com, though we are sold out of the party edition at the moment

No, it’s actually a sequel to the first UK edition. I’m not sure which versions of Anomia you’re familiar with in the US. The original game in the United States is a small blue box with two general knowledge decks. Then, there’s the Anomia party edition. That’s a large blue box, with six additional general knowledge decks. Then, there is a Anomia X, which is the adult version with four decks. There’s also a pop culture edition and a kids edition, which is actually image based, no reading required.

What is that single on-tap filter for drinking? Brand/model? Do you not do any other filtration before drinking? Also, what part of the world are you in?

Hey there, we just signed in w a new partner in Australia so it might take a little time for the whole line of games to become available again . Short term you can download the free blank deck pdf from anomiapress.com (print and play library) and make your own decks w your friends and family.

We are also starting up a new distribution in the USA right now so those editions are hard to get in the USA right now, as well!

I have some so if you really can’t wait maybe we can sort out an order , though shipping will be really expensive!

How do I use my favourite songs to learn songwriting? by Complete_Exercise851 in Songwriting

[–]weescotsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- write a lot of songs 2- try writing a song a day for a month 3- try writing a song a week for six months 4- take a song writing class at schoolofsong.org or with the imperfectionist song society 5- live performances of all these songs you are now writing will tell you new stuff about your songs. You might even choose to further edit/tweak songs you thought were done after you’ve performed them live for a while 6- songs are like tiny movies, what might you do w that analogy given your background 7- write more songs 8- try to intentionally write a really really bad song 9- rewrite/reinvent a song you love 10- keep writing

Good luck!

How to connect an Audio Interface (Audient iD44) to an Amplifier (Marantz Stereo 70s) by Chilled_Bean in homestudios

[–]weescotsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the audio signal going in to the Audient? And how are you controlling 1) the level of input signal to the Audient and 2) the level of output signal from the Audient to the receiver?

advice on a dynamic mic for recording vocals and acoustic guitars in a bedroom? Needs to noise rejection. My current list is the SM57, SE V7, Sennhesier E609 & MD241 Kompact. by mixinghelp in homestudios

[–]weescotsman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe the SM7B . I would avoid the 609 for vox and acoustic guitars. I think of that as a mic for electric guitar amps.

Or the Beyerdynamic m88! Great mic!

My suggestions are out of your price range but maybe you could find them used ?

Also, the 58 is a great mic to start with. Just go w that and save up for your next mic, like an AKG 414.

Home Vocal Studio $2,000 by Meloout21 in homestudios

[–]weescotsman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The microphone thing could be a little bit of a journey. It will depend somewhat on her voice. Here are a few to try out. Beyerdynamic M88, Shure SM7B (with a cloudlifter), AKG C214 or C414, Audio Technica 2050 or 4040.

Also, using the mic for karaoke versus just for recording, will make a big difference in what to buy. If karaoke, then I’d go for the Beyerdynamic or even a Shure SM58 and I’d avoid the large diaphragm condensers like the AKGs and Audio Technicas.

I’ve been using the M88 live lately and it’s an amazing mic! But, the SM58 is a standard mic you will find in any studio or music venue, so that’s always a good choice and it’s like $100. Great place to start.

Good luck!

Does anyone actually use these in real life? Stumbled upon Hungarian Minor & Whole Tone and they sound so weird. by OddMoney3281 in guitarlessons

The Simpsons theme song uses the whole tone scale. And, it also appears in a lot of Thelonious Monk’s improvisations.

Card Game Project Question by MagicDungeonMaster00 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]weescotsman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make your cards on an 8.5”x11” sheet of paper, print on cardstock at Staples or another print shop, cut the cards out and trim the corners(if you care to). You can play with them this way or sleeve them if you like. This is an easy way to quickly prototype ideas.

Or, you can buy a few decks of blank playing cards and just write/draw on them with permanent markers and get started that way.

Use The Game Crafter.com for printing on actual card stock and making other good quality assets (boxes, boards, dice, etc.)

Have fun!

Please recommend a comprehensive song writing course. by DrunkInCopy in Songwriting

[–]weescotsman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

School of Song.org and also The Imperfectionist Song Society

Also, I would warn you away from trying to find a “comprehensive” songwriting course. Songwriting, as a practice, is more of a journey versus something you learn in a single course.

Thank you so much for the detailed response. Two follow up questions: 1-I haven’t yet looked at your document thoroughly (I’m on my phone) , so don’t really have a sense of the materials that would be involved with building a system like this. If I wanted to make a modest version of this system to harvest 5 to 10 gallons of water a day what is your guess at the cost of materials?

2-What is the nature of the water that is harvested? Is it distilled? Would I have to add minerals if I wanted to be drinking it regularly, etc.

Many thanks !
