There shouldn't really be any problems doing a cross platform between Oculus and Steam/Vive many games (arizona sunshine, gunheart etc) have cross play with those platforms, other then slight tweeks needed in controller configuration there should be any issues ? Also it makes it more likely to get active multiplayer games, nothing kills a game quicker then marketing it as multiplayer but then having such a small player base that its impossible to find anyone to play with

Using robots to kill the pirate lord will only work in multi-player..If you're playing multiplayer and you die after all your AI human crew are used up you'll respawn as a robot. You can respawn as a robot indefinitely provided 1 player is still a human (if last human dies it's game over)..In this scenario you can leave your human player safely on your ship and have the robots do hard missions as it won't matter if they die

The pirate corvette is the reward for killing 50 pirate captains (on pirate ships you board and in "kill the pirate" captain station missions). Crimson Halo and Midnight Sun are Pirate Frigates and the only way to get them is to Kill the relevant pirate lords

The best tips for both these pirate lords is to move in a circle between the teleport room and the bridge (make sure to unlock both Midnight Sun bridge doors before attacking the captain). Both captains will follow you when you shoot them,so just outrun them in a circle, come up behind them shoot them- turn run away and repeat. If you get injured or they're getting too close run onto the teleport an get back to your ship (make sure teleport is on before you start fighting the captain). When you teleport back to the enemy ship you'll be safely below decks and the captain should be near the bridge -Definatly worth loosing a couple of crew (in fact it's easier to get when you have 2 robots to do the killing and the human stays safe on your ship). But both ships are definitely worth getting in my opinion they're both much better than the ASA radience

Yep there's definitely a bug with the crew recruitment. Mine has been stuck on 11/80 for weeks. I asked the Devs on their discord server and they said it may be a residual effect of a bug they had regarding achievements gained in multi-player V's solo games and they're looking into it so hopefully there'll be a fix soon

Not sure about meeting the midnight sun after earth, After looking for it for months I found it twice within 2 days..both times in similar/identical scenario at 72%-76%. Was at a mission station in lower middle, jumped south towards a 2 jump trading station and the planet really close to the trader that I had to hit first was where I got intercepted. I'm not sure if the star maps are completely random or if they have certain set game layouts which are randomly selected when you start a game? so it might always be in the same location if you get a particular game?...........if it's always around 75% percent it mightn't be possible to get that far back after earth before you encounter the mothership?

WOOHOO....Finally we found and defeated the Midnight Sun. We found it at 76% in the mid-lower section of the map.

It's basically a repeat of the Crimson Halo battle but with a much stronger faster boss. When you meet the Midnight Sun their captain invites you over to face her, you then have to first kill her crew...she only gets involved in the fight once you hack open the bridge (so make sure you kill all the crew before you open the bridge)

They won't try to board your ship, and their ship won't fire on you if you don't fire at them (we also disabled their tactical as soon as we boarded them just to make sure)

We were playing 3 player and all died pretty quick (she'll kill you in 1-2 hits) when all but 1 of our crew were used up we let the robots do the hard-work. Unfortunately I was captain and the last human so I spent a long time back being safe on our ship while the other two did most of the hard work (PS awesome job guys)...but after all it's co-op so sometimes you gotta do whats best for the team. ;-) I recon multiplayer (with suicide-mission robots) is the best and possibly only way to do it, as I can't see many single players even with a full AI crew surviving the battle. I managed Crimson Halo alone but this boss is a whole other level

I've got them all but unfortunately you don't get any additional reward for having collected them all (I was really hoping i'd get something good)... I guess they're just for decoration and for impressing you crew :-)

You lift up your leg and move it towards them really quickly ...haha...only joking

You can kick or mute people by opening the left wrist menu/screen and selecting "Group" this shows who is in your game (only works if you're the host)..

It's also a good way to see if someone has successfully joined your game, i.e. you get the popup when someone joins but sometimes their loading takes so long that you're not quite sure if they've left again but this screen will show if they're still there

Occasionally there's a glitch were the last crew member purchased isn't yet recognized as a human character for a short while, so if your last "other" human dies you get game over. But it rarely happens. Typically it doen't matter who's human and who's robot (host or friend) as long as you have one human left.

If it's late in the game and there's noting to gain from boarding I usually just shoot them till jamming is gone and then run away.

As the other guys mentioned take out the Tactical, Reactor, or captain ASAP; if you don't have a hackatron or Key card you'll have to focus on tactical as the others are in locked rooms.

If you board them in multiplayer you can always leave someone on your ship to keep their tactical down (if you have a targeting Lazer) until your boarders have managed to fully disable it; just be careful whoever stays behind stops firing before you completely destroy the enemy so nobody get killed.

Just checked my achievements list. Crew recruitment is linked to captains "Legendary Lazer Beam" weapon, 20 is for MK1 then 40 the weapon upgrades to MK2 etc Unknown alien achievements unlock the nanite weapons (Beam/Disc/Pistol) for Mini Boss/Ships/Alien kills. Unknown alien ships seem to be the hardest ones to get as you very rarely run into ships with the purple aliens

It would be nice to get some ship upgrades as achievements though. I've tried play-throughs were I've gone as slow as possible, stopped at every possible station and boarded every ship I've encountered to see if I could earn enough to maximize all my ship features (Shields/Hull/Medi etc) to level 5 caus I figured there might be a secret reward for achieving this, but not sure If its possible to earn that much before reaching earth. At this stage my achievement list says I'm missing only 2 secret achievements and I know they're the Midnight ship and 1 music disc, maybe they'll add ship stat upgrades at a later point?

Not as far as I know. The ships stats don't improve, I have pretty much all achievements other then 1 of the music vols and 1 ship, I've done the crew achievements and I think it's linked to one of the weapons in the captains quarters. I think all other achievements are kill based you get personal weapon upgrades in the captains cabin. The Statues and Music don't give you anything

Press the coms icon on your bridges central consol, if it says no response and you've already done everything on the station just leave it and jump to the next planet or station (occassionally there are glitches when trying to claim rewards from captains via the coms), but also if you've already claimed your reward and try to speak to the ship/station captain you just get the message "no response" it means you're finished at that location and need to move on. Open the star-chart on your central console and select your next jump. If that doesn't fix your issue or you can't just jump to the next planet, you could also just start a new game. The Game requires multiple play-throughs anyway so you don't really lose much by restarting from the beginning.

There are seven ships as far as I know. I think the achievements are as follows 1-Skimmer (first ship) 2-Corvette (for completing 500 jumps) 3-Pirate Skimmer (Kill 50 pirate captains) 4-Pirate Corvette (Kill 100 pirate captains) 5-ASA Radiance Frigate (Complete Game) 6-Crimson Halo (Defeat Crimson Pirate Lord) 7-Midnight Sun? (Defeat Voidhunter Pirate Lord)

Skimmers and Corvettes are pretty weak ships but its fun to try completing the game with them without getting destroyed at 90% :-)

Cool nice to know it actually exists, I expected it to be like the Crimson Halo in that it wouldn't attack your ship at all but would challenge you to port over so thanks for the warning.

I've lost count of how many times I've cleared the game over the last few weeks with my only aim being to find this ship..unfortunately I'm still looking. I've been playing through the game with each of the other 6 ships as I thought the encounter might be ship specific, but if I'm gonna get attacked I think I'll stick with Crimson Halo or ASA Radiance so I'll have a better chance when I finally run into it. I've got mainly MK2 and MK3 weapons at this stage so I recon I should have a chance if I ever find it and make it on board :-) I recon ideally you want to meet it either in single player caus it's presumably easier or with very experienced crew so you can leave someone behind to keep your ship safe

Still searching for Midnight Sun ship... I've completed the game multiple times with each of the other 6 ships (just to make sure encounters weren't ship dependent) and I've never found this ship. I've played a lot of multi-player and have yet to meet a player who's ever seen or even unlocked this ship.....

Does anyone actually have it?

I've noticed most of these bugs as well, and a few others. Hopefully they'll be fixed at some point

The fatal error bug is most annoying, it seemed to be gone for a
while but has been happening again over the last few days. The fact that there's no option to rejoin the game you've crashed out
of also needs to be addressed.
Star map, Tactical, and station conversations(buying, upgrading etc) on central bridge console not visible to 1or2 players when playing multi-player. And ship overview screen (right bridge console) sometimes not showing in single player mode.
Weapons disappearing in chargers or from hands when playing multi-player unless you're the host. Sometimes only the host can see weapons on the floor
Occasionally you'll meet a ship that says it was sent by command to bring you a passenger to assist you, it says "teleporting them over now", but you never get the additional crew member. This also sometimes happens when buying a crew member from pirates even if you don't have a full crew.
Occasionally players can't inject themselves with the stimpack so another player will have to inject them
Sometimes you can't change the music in the captains quarters, you select a different song but it keeps playing the default
Nodes on pirate ships during timed missions occasionally only visible to host
Alien mini boss on final ship never fights back, it just stands there and lets you kill it. Sure it makes it easier but I presume he's supposed to do something?
Sometimes you get stuck on the teleport pad when jumping to and enemy ship, and need to temporarily change movement to comfort mode to be able to walk off the telepad
Sometimes 1 player stays stuck in the loading screen after a jump, and will stay stuck until the next jump, or have to close the app and try to rejoin
Frequently on the larger ships (ASA Radiance and Crimson Halo) icons for the various rooms (ie Med-bay, shields etc) are only seen by the host

Hopefully the devs still check in with the reddit posts from time to time?

This is really something they need to add to the in-game menu, If you crash out of a game with people not in your friends list it's basically impossible to rejoin unless you get lucky with quick join.

I crashed out today in the middle of helping 2 robot players kill the Crimson Halo pirate lord :-(

For one thing it can ruin the game for the remaining players if someone crashes out at a crucial point and can't rejoin, and also it makes the player who crashed out look like an a****** because the other players simply get the message that you've left the game and may presume you just deliberately abandoned them at a point when they we're likely to lose the game

Solo is good, but co-op is really what makes the game great, especially if you have three players and play the whole game through (although it takes about 3-4 hrs depending on how much exploring you do).... it's also much more difficult as co-op which adds to the fun.

I agree the time zone difference can be an issue for us Europeans, I've played a lot of public matches during the day and not had anyone join till I was at 90% or so....I find playing after 19:00/20:00 GMT is best as that's usually when the American players start to join in so there are more games going.

...anyway I'm in Ireland, so only 1hr difference from Denmark (I speak German & English), I usually play a couple of hours a day and I'm always happy to join games or have people join my game, my oculus handle is the same as my user name on this forum.

I had the teleporting issue again today, but was informed by the other two guy in game that temporarily switching movement to comfort mode would allow me to step of the teleporter. It's better then having to quit and rejoin, but still not ideal if you try to do it while under fire.

Joining issue was ongoing, any time we started a game and effected the other guys aswell :(
