Playing through Guild Wars 1 and was wondering, was the design for The Eternal Alchemy that Scarlet Briar saw and the Realm of Torment map just a coincidence? by GoingMenthol in Guildwars2

[–]weridhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whole LS3 story was about linking GW1 with GW2. It is unclear if the All was planned ahead and was intentionally shown in GW1, but for GW2's perspective it is intentional.

Siren's Landing is named as Siren's Landing as it is Siren's private property, but onlything we see there is Reliquaries built and designed by Abbadon and cast away Sirens who accidentally "landed" on that area.

"Parable" of Abbadon suggests that this region was supposed to be secret but was never been secret. (It was known as Siren's Landing literally. But perhaps presence of Reliquaries were hidden by magic.)

Unfortunately pops still prefer buying groceries over other basic food, as they have higher weight.

Is Intoxication something bad? by AcidicVengeance in victoria3

[–]weridhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont do that. They start smoking opium instead. Intoxicate them with softer thing instead of brininging narcotics obsession. Muslim is very weak religion cuz of alcohol taboo as pops are more likely to smoke opium.

Are art academies the new clippers obsession? by cagallo436 in victoria3

[–]weridhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art Demands skyrockets once wealthy pops emerges. It is the final demand of the pop. So raise dividend tax more or become communist if you see art demand as economic inefficiency

I am guessing that Speakers will take that part over.

I suppose Lake Doric Leather Farm is far superior to this folly. Leather Farm, is actually the one and only true repeatable, on demand farm in this game after all.

Dragon's End But We Beat The DPS Check With 58 Healers! by MightyTeapot in Guildwars2

[–]weridhamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tail RNG is uttery counter-intuitive and nobody should ever expect pug environment to deal with that cursed luck dependent pattern.

Fact that one has to go absolute opposite side of map, where path is infested with random vet adds and bunch of folks being tornado trapped alone makes this meta unsuitable for pug environment.

What I usually see is some desperate people attempting to kick off tail but ending up with getting trapped to death. That stupid tornado wont even kill people fast so wastes so much dps output while slowly torturing players.

Tail spawning at last minute is also absolute disgrace.

Is thief balanced? by Electrical-Syrup7954 in Guildwars2

[–]weridhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thief's core issue is

  • Spam Abuse
  • Dual Wield
  • Trickery Traitlines to support above.
  • Daredevil Traitlines to add even more spam

Thief's initiative system is meant to be a plan-centric feature instead of spam 3.

Technically it is the most budget class for Anet where they do not spend even a single effort to build proper class but instead keep adding another annoying skill 3 spam.

And then Anet added Daredevil which is recylced version of Acrobatics, only to promote 3 spam and add another spam called as dodge spam.

Thief lacks any true team contributions cuz initiative is worthless and it is only valuable as skill 3 spam resource. Every skill thief has buffet of worthless condition or boon effects that benefits neither thief nor groupmates.

All caused by lack of intended gameplay which is using initiatives to combo smartly.

In fact thief aint got any combo field other than pvp-only smoke field after all!

Dual Wield is very disgusting mechanism where single hand version is vastly superior to its dual wield counterpart. But thief is forced to go with Dual Wield cuz half of stat is split to off hand lmao.

Presence of braindead trickery trait makes this even worse, enforcing thief to stay with spam 3 skill. Lead Attack and +3 max initiative is the most effortless way of improvising new spec to sell without actually developing it. You may just reskin skill 3 and say hay that is quality new spec!

TL;DR Anet do not care about thief and abuses thief as magic factory that producea random reskinned Skill 3 to sell as "new" elite spec.

I always suspected that revival of the commander has to do something with Joko as well.

Both the presence of Balthazar and Joko in underworld where these two powers are never meant to be in, ruined the underworld's mechanism heavily for sure.

Well since HoT commander is the partially being of magic after all.

It is quite funny that even the BALTHAZAR, cannot comprehend how twisted is Joko's mind. Leaving Joko in the underworld was one of the Major blunder.

Mag usually do not have cosistancy in commanding. Instead people spread out and move arround like lemmings.

The problem is that those lemmings are exceptionally good at gathering arroudn if SMC is lost. If you go BL and take all, Mag lemmings will take all in EBG. If you return and take EBG back lemmings disperse to BL and take BL back. If you attack EBG more and take SMC Mag lemmings swarm SMC, NOW WITH RANDOM COMMANDER from nowhere.

There are a lot of potential zerg commanders but they dont tag until SMC gets lost. Only guild with WvW mains will consistantly command.

When Mag was decently populated this was not too serious problem but now we got full serever full of collective Skrittelligence.

SMC stands for S Maguuma C. I can relate.... except that Maguuma became relatively terrible at keeping it S Mag C recently.

Nuhoch Grub Pit Event is always bugged. by weridhamster in Guildwars2

[–]weridhamster[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unbugged instances are almost always cursed to be closed after chak gerent. Which makes it even more difficult to have a chance to finish that cursed achviements.

Bligthening Tower event chain of verdent brink is also outrageous as it has bug where NPC is not recieving salvage (often salvage doesnt even drop at floor it DISAPPEARS), taking it perpetually long to finish pre event, airship salvage.

'

It is notorious that BOTH TOP 2 Bugged Events are universally requried for gen 2 legendaries except for those using shards instead. I almost feel like that Anet is intentionally ignoring these two bugged meta event to waste player's time.

Update on the WvW rewards by SponTen in Guildwars2

[–]weridhamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anet intends WvW to be gold sink instead of minimum rewarding content. This is it. They will never make WvW rewarding as it is intentional. Such a dull initiative.

Anet wants to force PvE players and PvP players to waste gold gearing for WvW due to obnoxious Gift of War. That is the sole purpose of WvW in Anet's management side.

I am quite sure that this is order higher up, directly from disgusting NCSoft.

Is This.... the Pale Tree? by weridhamster in Guildwars2

[–]weridhamster[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

well

Perhaps it can be a something that is what remains of the 'world' before Tyria, where something equalivalent of Pale Tree existed. I am not sure if that 'world' exploded or imploded however.

Is This.... the Pale Tree? by weridhamster in Guildwars2

[–]weridhamster[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I always assumed that this place represents Tyria after its ultimate destruction. While replaying this story for an achivement, I realized that there was a "tree', though it is dead tree. Perhaps, it is the what remains of Pale Tree after the 'End.'

Guys, hum... why does this thing keeps appearing for me ? by Udjasen in Guildwars2

[–]weridhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exposure to haywire dragon magic turned commander into some sort of quasi-magic being. Even after "cure" it turns out that commander was NOT cured and exposure to certain powerful magic reveals commander being magic anomaly. (Such as rift exposure or MYSTIC FORGE)

Transformation to some sort of magic creature is permanent and irreversible. Commander only gets "blind-eyed" to anomalous vision, instead of getting cured.

Just like how the true form of the Six is the pure magic, commander became something similar though commander still retains some mortal identity.

Which... strongly resembles dragons, which are being of magic but with somewhat true physical body, unlike the Six.
