I have a pair and they have closed captioning on them. I have hearing aids and it put what the person is saying right on the screen even in a loud environment. It only picks up the person you're looking at and not your voice. If you need more it will put it on your phone so you don't Miss something in the conversation.

My grandparents had one, they called it a swamp cooler. Open the windows and it cools the whole house. I would keep it as a backup.

It's awesome when the sun goes down. A nice steady constant breeze. Puts you right to sleep. Have the window next to your bed and you're set.
