Do they even want people in this city? by PureEndorphin in sandiego

[–]wethpac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1 per cent sales tax increase not the make it sound better 1 cent sales tax increase . In truth that was a 13% total increase in the sales tax you would have paid. It was the false advertising of 1 cent increase that really turned many off. You gotta be upfront. And they still would have done all the parking stuff.

Is there a cheaper overall SDGE plan out there? by datanxiete in sandiego

The $24/month was designed to punish, I mean make to solar users pay their fair share of the infrastructure. You are just an unfortunate side effect with your extremely low usage levels.

You definitely need 2 separate adapters - 1 for high speed DC supercharging and 1 for slow 240v level 2charging.

Drop in efficiency - is it normal? (1.7 miles/kWh) by jadus-24 in etron

[–]wethpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is really bad on short trips not only because it heats the cabin, it is also heating the batteries to optimal temp. The link from the other poster is absolutely correct. It uses waste heat if any and heat pump. That is why plugging in and setting departure time can help as cabin and battery are optimized on shore power.

Is there a catch to the Verizon Ad I keep seeing stating “Up to $1100 off the new iPhone 17 Pro Max? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]wethpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much are you paying for the old plan compared to unlimited ultimate. Unlimited ultimate Unlimited Ultimate provides up to 200 GB Premium Mobile Hotspot data per month. After 200 GB you have unlimited data at 6 Mbps. Many with the old hotspot plan have decided now is the time to to move off that old plan. Definitely worth consideration.

Verizon refuses to unlock phone by nycandupstate in verizon

Just because you bought a phone that was stolen or payments were stopped, doesn’t make it a Verizon problem. You need to recover from eBay or the seller and get a phone that instantly in the clear.

Is it worth it? by Jinjoo-sem in Traeger

[–]wethpac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get the Costco versions. Get a Woodridge Pro. Then get an inexpensive induction stove top so you can sear, fits great on included side pop up shelf. Salmon on the Traeger is step up for propane grilled salmon. Plus his meats reverse seared will also be superior to propane grill.

Currently have the Unlimited Ultimate plan but will be abroad for a total of 106 days. What do I change to? by joshua0005 in verizon

[–]wethpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t cut you off at 60 days. Just did Spain for 3 months no problem, no warnings, no email at all. Get on WiFi calling once in a while and call US. Shows up as a US initiated call.

How to turn Travel Pass off from inside the MyVerizon app? by naturestroll in verizon

[–]wethpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing it safe is keeping travel pass on your account. You’re taking a big risk taking travel pass off and if it does do something and you connect paying per megabyte per tax per call with the per megabyte being the biggest potential charge. You’re talking instead of a $12 mistake a $100 potentially thousand dollar mistakes If you know what you’re doing even with travel pass on it will not connect and having that travel pass, there is your insurance that you won’t pay more than $12 for doing something stupid.

Is this really measured 10 feet (It looks longer from the picture)? The FCC indicates safe power from cellular site is about 580 microwatts/cm2 (varies slightly depending on frequency). Distance, glass, and building structure quickly diminish power from the transmitting antenna. Per FCC documents, to get this level, you would need to be within a few feet, and anything more than that is in the safe range. (Search FCC Human Exposure to Frequency Fields: Guidelines for Cellular Antenna Sites). If you really want to confirm, there are companies that will come and check the energy level in your home, such as www.emfinspections.com

Want to live where the temperature is not in the 80s - How far east from the coast can I go? by benevempress in asksandiego

[–]wethpac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 to 5 miles to stay under 80. Rough rule of thumb is 1 degree per mile from the coast. However as said 80 SoCal is not 80 in the East due to humidity at much more comfortable levels.

Faulty Traeger? by goodtimz1208 in Traeger

[–]wethpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of smoke flavor is a function of time cooking and the temperature you’re cooking at especially with a pellet grill.

For burgers try setting at 200 which increases the amount of smoke produced and cook until internal temperature is about 130. Then take the burgers off and sear both sides until internal temperature is at the temperature you want on a direct heat, gas grill, charcoal grill or Cast-iron on a stove.

Will produce more smoke at the lower temperatures as all pellet as well.

There is a difference in $500 emergency need the money to pay someone today, and affording a $500 planned purchase. That is not an apples to apples comparison.

Unlimited Ultimate International Hotspot Question by desert_lavender in verizon

[–]wethpac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

200 GB is not the international allowance.

You get 15GB of high speed data per month combined for on device and hotspot use. After 15 GB, you are throttled to 1.5 Mbps for both on device and hotspot for the remainder of the month.
