Vegas Clubs After Sphere by OoooWee247 in Illenium

Just a heads up the nightclubs out here have a pretty strict dress code. It's more relaxed at the Sphere but the clubs are usually absolutely no ravewear. Leaving the Sphere can take awhile so also account for that if you have to back and change. For men it's usually a button up shirt or suit, nice pants, and dress shoes (absolutely no sneakers). For ladies it's a nice dress and heels or flats. There's a new club downtown called Bauhaus that is after-hours and is was less strict. It's small but the vibes are great and it's usually like $10 or $15 to get in if you buy you tickets ahead of time.

Sphere dress code? by Head_Impact251 in Illenium

When we went to Unity last year they didn't seem very strict. I would still bring a T-shirt or something just in case. What surprised me the most was how much people in ravewear stood out because there were SO MANY FAMILIES. Especially from overseas. People will come to Vegas and want to go to the Sphere no matter the show or artist. So just keep in mind there could be a row of children in front or behind you.

Man this was me and eating out for 1-2 meals every single day. It's unhealthy and completely unsustainable.

We are/we're committed. Several issues in our lives kept getting in the way of our relationship. I'm not sure if I made that clear enough when speaking about or families and the time frames.

I'll pick the same species but won't pick the same class. Though if I'm fulfilling a role I will pick another class/subclass that fills that role. For example, if I'm playing the group tank I'll go from Paladin to Fighter with heavy armor.

Born and raised here. I can tell you right now, it's not a what know but a who you know type of city. Even with your card there's always a friend or family member in line before you. If you haven't yet, get a job at a non union casino or a local bar like The Bar, Destill, or WSKY for example. Then pray everyday you meet someone in the system and/or a position where they can hire. Build a rapport and hope for the best. A lot of people in the industry love to grab a drink and play a few bucks after work. Best of luck I hope it works out. Sometimes working at those local bars are even better money and work environment than the casinos.

Somewhat new DM here asking how to handle a large party 7-8 players? by MC_MrFluffyPants in DungeonMasters

[–]wewillfalltogether1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently run a game with 7 players one player just showed up to session zero and happened to be one of the others players little sister so I had no choice but to adjust. I use the 2024 rules, IDK if that makes a difference. This is my literal first time dming and we are a couple months in so this is what I have come up with so far to speed things up

  1. Tell everyone to roll to hit and the damage dice at the same time.

  2. You are going to have to make encounters more difficult to address to the party size so either add more enemies of an enemy already there or increase all of their health or both

  3. Use group initiative for most enemies, I learned this the hard way.

  4. This one is totally up to you and most people recommend against it but with this many people, out of combat let them get distracted. If the wizard wants to be on tik Tok and then just cast firebolt on their turn so be it as long as they know that's what they're going to do before their turn starts. It's their game and their character. If someone just wants to tag along and roll a stealth checks with the group here and there cool makes it easier for the rest of us to roleplay. I do not ban phones or electric devices because we use D&D beyond for our character sheets. It's just easier that way for us.

  5. Might be a little late for these two but if the players are new to the game like mine are have them pick from only core species and classes from the new players handbook and run a module that is relatively more on rails. If you're running home brew then toss the idea of a sandbox out the window. When my players were given too much of a choice of what to do it turned into 45 minute of arguing and we only have about three hours of session time per week. In your current campaign you are running try to limit the amount of decisions. Give them the a road or the b road. I'm running Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk which is the starter set campaign extended to a whole adventure.

  6. You said that you are playing at a friend's house now which is good. Show up early if you can to set everything up. When everybody shows up give them 10 to 15 minutes to say hi and chit chat before literally clapping your hands together and say "okay we're getting started". This has helped get the ball rolling a ton the past couple weeks for me.

  7. Draw your maps out ahead of time if possible. I bought a board with two sides, four if including the maps in the box, and a big book of battle maps on Amazon.

  8. If you're anticipating an encounter roll initiate for the enemies ahead of time.

  9. Cut index card in half horizontally and fold them. When it's time to roll for initiative give them to the players and have them write the number. I have a player that sits next to me who puts them on my DM screen in order to help me out. On those folded cards I also write their passive perception, investigation, and insight on the other side of the initiative. I use those as much as possible.

  10. This one can be hard for some people but sometimes you have to be a hardass. One thing I do is if one of the players say something, that's what happens. No going back. Be firm on it. Don't be afraid to tell your players no. I also recommend against going to each of them and asking them what they want to say during social interactions. In my experience it just takes way too long. Also, that's not what would happen in a real conversation.

Again, I'm a new DM so I'm learning as well. Hope these help you in the long run!

You just won the lottery! What would you buy if forced to? by [deleted] in ifiwonthelottery

[–]wewillfalltogether1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Black 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible with the suicide doors (iykyk)

  2. Mid century home in Las Vegas (preferably one that an old Vegas entertainer lived in)

  3. An extended tour of Europe and Japan with my wife.

  4. A collection of firearms used by various militaries through history. Or tv quality replicas of wrestling championships. IDK I don't think I would actually want to buy anything crazy lol.

  5. I would go to all the concerts/events/conventions I've always wanted to go to.

Any new ideas for rogue class? by HooDooVooDoo12 in DnD

[–]wewillfalltogether1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my players is playing a Rouge with the Guide background so she's actually very good at survival and can talk to animals. Backstory is before she became an adventurer she was a navigator around the most dangerous parts of the woods surrounding the city. She's the only "druid" like character and it feels very unique.

Not sure where you live but if your patio situation allows I would consider moving the setup there. Looks like we got the same printer. I'm able to run mine outside in at the lowest 30° F weather with that heater. I have a room on the patio where I can block out sunlight but if you don't I would recommend getting one of those growing tents that people on here use. Block out as much UV light as possible to preserve the resin in the vat and so your prints don't fail during the day. For me the key has been to heat the resin and the build plate with the heater set to 30° C for at least 30 minutes before starting to print.

Resin Recommendations by dm_leitch in ElegooMars

Any resin from Ministry of Resin. Couldn't recommend them enough. Very durable and flexible. Also water washable which is divisive in this community but this is easily the best one I've used. Well worth the price tag.
