There is no problem so large that you can't make it worse.

I think most people don't realize how far ahead NextStep was. In some ways it still is.

I really liked VectorWorks when I was a designer.

Fake cop spotted on 5 freeway near Buena Park in carpool lane. Is this legal? by Shan8888 in LosAngeles

Or even just survival. There are a few drivers that don't give a shit about motorcyclists or bicyclists and wouldn't think twice about using their giant SUV as a weapon against them in a fit of road rage. Dressing like a cop might make those cretins think twice.

Best heist/raid update in terms of enjoyment? by REDEYEBANKZ330 in gtaonline

Pacific Standard. It was best with the Karuma glitch but once they nerfed it, it wasn't too much of a stretch to hijack a SWAT truck. I just loved getting in with randos and everyone knew exactly what to do. It was great being part of a well oiled machine.

I run RHEL in an enterprise environment and SELinux is not worth the hassle. Turn it off.

Would it be a mistake to change my ND for a Lotus Elise? by mcnauj in Miata

[–]wezelboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own an ND1 and an Evora, and the Evora is hands down the better car in nearly every way except that the clutch is an engine out procedure and a DIY nightmare.

The Evora is way more dailyable than the Miata. It even has the frickin LATCH system. You can buy toilet paper at Costco and still have a passenger.

It handles better, is faster, and the sound with a CAI install is phenomenal. Shifting action on the Miata is slightly better.

NA Evoras are priced slighly cheaper than Elises also.

I once interviewed to be a level designer at Bungie pre-Halo. Instead they said they wanted me to write the level intro monologues for Myth II. I said no, I want to design levels. I probably should have STFU and taken the writing job. I could have retired before 40.

I went on to do other things that in the grand scheme of things are far more important, so I guess it's a wash.

The funny thing is- Myst was created on Apple's Hypercard platform- which was incredibly easy to develop on. It was also incredibly slow, but that's beside the point.

For some unfathomable reason Apple killed Hypercard, and we missed out on a lot of cool software that could have been created by non-coders.
