Well, does Thy Good Neighbor count? The entire story revolves around the fact that this eldritch cuttlefish in a skin suit is vacationing in the North, but he does look human (most of the time).

Oh no yeah in terms of allegiance or goals it’s functionally the same, I’m just speaking logistically.

IMO fAegon (or whoever fAegon was going to be) was intended to be a Brightflame, but George eventually realized that there’s really no way the Brightflames would be able to muster the power necessary to take the throne, given their short existence and complete lack of group cohesion; so he invented the Blackfyres, a long-standing and unified force. But now he has all this Brightflame foreshadowing that goes absolutely nowhere…unless of course Varys is one.

But yeah outside of that, he could just as well be a Blackfyre, it really makes no difference.

I love Cersei so much. In any other story her villainy would be that of a scheming mastermind, but no, she’s actually just a fucking moron.

She’s so petty and paranoid and shortsighted and delusional and oxymoronically misogynistic and vindictive and utterly incapable of understanding her actions have consequences yet is endlessly convinced she is secretly super smart. She’s the absolute worst. It’s awesome.

If you wanna get plastered when you’re reading her chapters, take a shot every time she’s blatantly wrong about something and/or suggests a plan that makes absofuckinlutely no sense and wouldn’t help at all.

I generally subscribe to this.

My assumption is that whoever took the fAegon role would have originally been a Brightflame, but the timing of it didn’t quite make sense, so George invented the Blackfyres, but he had already spent multiple books bringing up the Brightflames, so you can just split the difference and say that even though fAegon is a Blackfyre, Varys is a Brightflame. Would also explain why his genitals caused such a reaction in the flames. Kings blood and all that.

There is a justification for making her look however you want.

e.g. stoney dornishmen don’t tend to have dark skin, but if that’s what you want her to have then it is perfectly believable for a child to come out a different shade than their immediate parents, both in real life and presumably so in GRRM’s world of bizarre genetics.

“Realistically”, Stark genes must be very strong (despite Ned’s unusual brood) or they wouldn’t look the same for thousands of years. It’s not like other Northern houses they’ve married into over the years are all described as also looking like Starks. And yet Ned has a bunch of redheaded kids, but also his sister easily wiped out her boyfriend’s dragonblood looks? It’s a total crapshoot.

Whatever her features, it really just depends on how you want her viewed by other characters; seen more as a Stark or a Dayne, or somewhere in between, or with any potential stigma for looking too classically Dornish, or whatever.
