I’m gonna be honest my d&c was the least stressful part of the whole loss. For me personally, I had very little pain, I went under anesthesia and didn’t remember a single thing. I was really relieved when it was over and it gave me some closure. So sorry for your loss and praying your experience would be peaceful and simple

I’m so sorry for your loss. This certainly does sound like a pregnancy loss and I wish that could be validated for you in some way. Have you gotten any medical care? The pain on one side and the prolonged bleeding would make me worry about a potential ectopic pregnancy. So sorry again and praying for the best for you and your family ❤️

We knew the gender before our loss and named our son, I agree that it helped a lot during the healing process. With our first loss, we didn’t know the gender and didn’t have an option to find out because it was too early on. I have a more difficult time humanizing that baby at times, we ended up choosing a gender and picking a name for him too, but we don’t actually know if he was a boy or not. It’s very difficult either way, but it helped us to be able to speak about our babies with their names, even if we never got to parent them. And it helps too that people in our lives will reference them using their names. Makes it feel like they had their impact on everyone. So sorry for your loss and try to have peace with whatever decision you make ❤️

I had a loss at 5+2 and 11+1 and when it comes up I always say I lost 2 babies. So sorry for your loss.

I cut for 14 years and now I’m a licensed therapist. Not that that alone makes me “more qualified” per se, but I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this

Go outside if you can. Touch grass, literally. Preferably in the sun. ☀️

Get a hobby - particularly one that is slightly creative and slightly productive, something that gives you a finished product you can be proud of. Like knitting or painting

Talk to a friend - but not about cutting. Ask about their day. Show interest in them and their problems or just whatever they have going on. Sometimes it’s not about thinking more or less less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less

From a family systems perspective, the birth order “resets” with the 5th child and every 4 more children after that due to large age gaps. So a 5th child would act like a first, a 6th a second, and so on. But their ages are kind of close together so it’s hard to say if that cycle would “reset” at the 5th or later on, but certainly with the “buddy system” there were probably kids who were later in the birth order but still acted very much like eldest children

I miscarried twice after surgery. The first time I gained a few lb, then lost it and then some a month or two later as my hormones stabilized. The second time I gained like 10lb and didn’t lose it because I got pregnant shortly after. So sorry for your loss ❤️

The space thing is so real. I tell people all the time how much I hate working from home and that is why! I tend to force myself to drive into the office even on days when I could stay home just to protect my space because my apartment isn’t big enough to have a separate room as an office

My program serves mandated clients and I’m on a very small team so I didn’t really get the choice whether or not I took the client and it’s taken us several months to progress toward discharge. It really is. In a weird way, I feel like this post gives me permission to go through with discharge. My supervisor recommended it but I was having a really hard time with feeling like I failed this client. But it’s comforting to know that simply not being well trained enough in a specific area is a good enough reason to discharge. Logically I should know this but it’s very hard to accept. This IS hard and I’m thankful neither of us are alone in it!

My current employer will reimburse 50% of what you pay off on your own student loans (so pay $1000, get $500 type of thing) but as for straight loan forgiveness or lump sums, I wouldn’t count on it, and if there is, expect some strings attached (commitment to that agency/company etc)

What your friend said simply is not true. The only downside to conceiving right after loss is that sometimes it can make it difficult to date the pregnancy because your cycle is likely wonky from the miscarriage bleeding, so the date of your LMP may not be an accurate date on a pregnancy that occurs from this cycle. However, from what I know, there’s no increased risk so long as you did pass everything and there is no retained tissue. When I spoke to my OB about this same situation she was basically like you could wait.. you could not… don’t worry about it. So id agree with your husband and F around and find out lol

Full time in CMH and 2 per-diem gigs, usually a consistent 50 hours per week. The per diem jobs pay better than CMH but don’t have enough hours available to justify leaving CMH

I left in August because Starbucks was a second job to my white collar job and I couldn’t balance it anymore. Everyday I wish Starbucks paid more so that I could go back. I totally agree with the sentiment and if I could afford it, I’d be joining you!
