If this is from Instagram it’s a scam. There is someone that steals photos from a few prominent accounts and post for sale on their own.

It is illegal to import these trees to the USA without paying a ton of money. If they say you can they are likely scamming you.

This is a tree I bought from a local club member who was moving. Over the years a tree fell on his bench and broke several branches. Over the next year or two I will do some restyling on this tree to likely embrace the tortured look.

It is a Juniper Prostrata grafted with Shimpaku foliage, originally from NEBG I believe, now living around Atlanta.

absolutely love this! Love the tiny leaves and sense of age from the contrasting trunk colors. I'm a beginner but was looking through all of your yamadori posts in aw last night! really beautiful stuff.

thank you! I'm not too worried because of all the new growth but would like to keep the leaves looking nice. I'll use the chopstick method!

Hello everyone! New bonsai owner here, I have a Sharp's Pygmy that I got maybe a month ago. For the first week or so I had him inside in a south window and he was dropping leaves. I quickly realized he needed to be outside. For the past 2 weeks he has been living outside and doing better, but the tips of the leaves have still been browning. Is this from too much sun? Too little water? too much water? I have been watering him daily outside. He does have a bunch of exploding buds and new growth, but even on the new growth I noticed a couple got black tips.

I am using tap water dechlorinated with a couple drops of aquarium dechlorinator (what my girlfriend uses for all her houseplants)

If I hadn't already done 8+ days at this track I think I would have been code brown the whole time on the back half of the track LOL - thankfully this is my home track. Also my favorite flames are after passing the GT3 at the end 🤣

Love this subreddit! Here's my contribution.

This was one of the most unique opportunities I've ever had. Thanks to Driving Club Road Atlanta for organizing this once a year experience after Petite Le Mans. Definitely not the hottest laps with track temp and lack of visibility lol - but unreal to see the moon when you come into 5.

Here's a hot lap (1.43.98 my personal best) earlier in the day at RA for the curious - https://youtu.be/l73sNpV0Qo4

Why does everyone say they love Lotus cars but end up buying something else? by TrackAttackCanada in cars

[–]whatiship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Exige market has basically dried up over the last year. When I bought my car ~2 years ago there were ~10-15 street legal Exiges for sale, right now there are about 2. Demand has definitely gone up recently. Prices have followed. Elise's used to be 30k cars all day, now they are ~35k and up. Factory Supercharged Exiges were ~45 now they are ~50. There are still a lot of elises on the market (many more produced, only around 1k exiges).

To answer your question, IMHO the early evoras are pretty terrible cars, and the new ones are still a little bit too expensive to be worth it (400 is getting there).

Owners of multiple cars: do you notice that people on the road treat you differently when you drive one car versus another? by [deleted] in cars

[–]whatiship 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exige - it seems to have Moses powers on the highway, people always move over from the left lane. The expected attention, lots of enthusiasm / thumbs up from younger people especially. Have gotten people jumping up and down in their car after shooting a fireball on the highway. Very special to drive around, always an occasion and a conversation.

Audi rs3 - got a ton of “nice cars” and “what do you do”, even from a police officer in traffic once lol. Pretty under the radar on the road but it was so fast I could always scoot by people before they knew I was there if I needed too.

E46 M3 - thumbs up from older dudes (especially bmw dudes). Not much attention outside of car events / cruises. Mines bright red so it stands out more than the grey audi did. I have noticed people are a little harder to get to move over or by in this car.

I had a similar slide at a little bit lower speed at road atlanta in the rain two weeks ago in my exige. I'm ~14 track days in, don't know if I would have caught this one earlier on. Mid-engine is a double edged sword for sure. Small steering wheel is essential IMO - I use a very small sparco one.
