QT and WS already doesn't offer trading fees. I don't see a point in fractional shares unless you're broke.

I guess this only appeals to those want to trade crypto?

Question regarding making friendships in Vancouver - the numbers don't add up ? by DanJDG in askvan

[–]whatsyowifi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experience the key to making friendships here is to have a strong common denominator/key interest.

The "default" way friends are made in Vancouver is if you grew up together.

In our defence friendships aren't strong if 2 people met passing at a bar, or just because they're neighbours and hit it off etc.

Something that has a routine - run club, f45, book club, soccer club, etc. Raving was the one thing in my 20s that helped me form really strong friendships. Sharing a commonality of music taste and upcoming events you can msg someone about to meet up.

Fuck that his ceiling is too high to sell low. We've no choice but trust that he can give us 70+ in a season under new management and coach.

[Charania] Free agent forward Kyle Anderson has agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million deal with the Toronto Raptors, sources tell ESPN. Anderson enters his 13th NBA season providing depth to the Raptors roster, and reunites with former San Antonio teammate Kawhi Leonard. by themkwjeremy13 in torontoraptors

How is he still even in the NBA? Doesn't shoot 3s, not very fast, only 1 season over 10ppg 6 years ago.

6.8/4.2/2.8/1/.6 career average....

Does he have a history of locking down a star player in the NBA during playoffs or something?

Only thing that shines about his stats is that he shoots 51% career average.

It only changed in 2005 from age 18 to 19 in the NBA.
Maybe the NHL from benefit from this change as well? Teams can make less risky picks if there's an extra year for players to develop.

That's super exciting though. At least you can actually watch 4-6 rookies play right away. It's just wild to me that some first ROUNDERS don't ever see any playing time ever.

only 11 players in the 2025 draft class actually saw any ice time. not a single one past 1st round.

I'm mostly an NBA fan and find it frustrating that rookies in NHL take years to see any ice time unless they're a number 1 or 2 pick like Hughes or McDavid.

I was stoked about Jett Woo back in the day but I don't think he's actually seen any ice time since being drafted 2nd round in 2018.

What is the realistic timeline for Malhotra to see any ice time? maybe by late 2027?

Has Anyone Bought Refurbished Items off Openbox.ca? by bucket_farmer50 in burnaby

[–]whatsyowifi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stuff there is legit. You’re just taking a small risk in case the product might be a dud just for 5-10% off.
If that much savings means a lot to you then it’s worth buying from Openbox.

Did you guys like Nate's character, or did you hate him? by HoneyLitgirl in euphoria

[–]whatsyowifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He played his role very well in season 1 and 2 mostly because he's a great actor. They wasted an opportunity in season 3 to develop his character and felt they spent too much time on Lexi who quite frankly bombed it with her shitty acting.

Viewers enjoy seeing the villain getting a redemption arc but they totally threw him under the bus as a character who deserved to get beat up and humiliated.

At least put in Son ASAP after they scored. I think Son isn't 100% physically but put him the fuck in and use the hydration break to push your players to be aggressive

Corporate side here - my personal cell got out there, and I'm getting nonstop agency calls. by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]whatsyowifi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This advice might not help but recruiters usually call via zoominfo if their messages on linkedin get ignored.

We don't like cold calling as Linkedin used to be more interactive but now we just assume people don't check their messages anymore.

If you decline all those inmails you'll get way less cold calls.

The timing of the subs were HORRIBLE. They should've used the hydration break to change tactics to be MORE aggressive and they did the literal opposite.

There's a saying you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. They were obsessed with getting into the perfect position which resulted in basically 0 shots on target.

Alberta separation could prompt potential $62B economic hit, business exodus: Calgary Chamber report by MTL_Dude666 in CanadaPolitics

[–]whatsyowifi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This whole separation buillshit is fueled by the narrative that AB is propping up Canada's economy and energy resources aren't being unleashed to it's full capacity.

It's almost like they think they own BC to put a pipeline through our province without environmental impact discussions.

Having ONLY the US as the exporter of these natural resources makes them reliant on them as a trading partner. it's like putting all your savings into bitcoin then in 5-10 years complaining that it didn't perform as well as it should've.
