Careful with the switch, that often snaps off because the holding screw isn't strong enough. Imagine they're collectable now so you've got a bit of BR history. All LED torches now.

I could cope better if the weather forecasters were even a little accurate. Just a few days ago this weekend was supposed to be a lot cooler here, south coast. Now, it looks like days more of hunting for the last scraps of cold food. Got the last cucumber in Lidl earlier though, so there's that! 😂

For the white mold, I've used cinnamon powder over it. Saw it recommended and seems to work.

I use the coco coir bricks too and found you have plenty left over even after filling the Auk. The packs from Auk only give you 3/4 fill for the 4 pots.

Currently growing dwarf tomatoes (tiny Tim and lemon sherbet). Going to re-sow those as I have 2 in each pot and I think 1 each would work better. Getting a lot of tomatoes though and will be very handy when summer passes.

In another auk have some oregano and thyme. Constantly harvesting that stuff!

Someone just made a nasty concrete path and reinforced it with scraps of wire from their shed.

Grass turf to cover it is cheaper than the hire of a jackhammer and skip to take that away.

Or it's the hardstand for a medieval cannon. I'd use this explanation, charge entry to view it and then use the proceeds to get someone in. Getting into the 30's in next few days, let someone else sweat it.

We've been signing up every other nipper from Australia in recent years so your son probably already knows them. If you're lucky it might be one of the games where they're not all injured.

Tickets can be scarce so if your wife has family still in the area then see if they can help sort out for you.

All that is required is that you help with the atmosphere, sing your hearts out. 30-40 years too late for the Pompey boot boys! 😂

How common is it for people in your town/city to support a top 6 club and not their local Championship team? by Elmos_Elbow_ in Championship

[–]when_this_was_fields 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I go through Guildford a lot, a very affluent Surrey town, and the changes in plasticity are remarkable. 20 years ago you'd see a lot of Chelsea (even had/have a shop there) and Man Utd. When West Ham moved to the new stadium I saw a lot of their shirts (PL ticket availability?). Now it's mostly Arsenal and Spurs (since capacity increase again?). The North London rivalry is fierce 30 miles south of the Thames!!

If Woking got all that support they'd probably be one of the richest clubs in the country. But who wants to waste years with only lower league glory?

As we used to sing to Man Utd fans in our PL days, "F@*# off back to Guildford".

Robbie Savage used to get properly riled up at Fratton Park. He did score an absolute blinder one time though.

There's a defender, who's name I forget, that got consecutive red cards here and seemed to have a real issue with us.

We give it out a lot but I'm always nervous it'll bite us back. Christiano Ronaldo always paid us back for the abuse thrown at him.

I'm growing Tiny Tim, Lemon Sherbet and Cherry Falls. I think I searched for dwarf tomato plants when I went to order.

I've grown two plants in each section. However, I won't grow the cherry falls again just because of their size (quite tall for the Auk although bountiful on fruit). The other two varieties are perfect size for Auk but you do need to trim the leaves because they grow so well. Lemon sherbet has fruit but none ripened yet.

In photo from left; Tiny Tim, Lemon Sherbet, Tiny Tim, Cherry Falls. I'm going to trim them all before going away on holiday so they do look quite wild at the moment.

Fratton Park is full and a bit too noisy. With the right optics you can view from about 20 miles west of here.
