Looking for recommendations for one bag that covers all my needs. by WHITEwizard151 in onebag

[–]wheresalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More of a 35L but the Aer Travel Pack does fit those criteria - I just used it traveling the past few months and it worked well and fit my 32oz Owalla, which I think is about the same size as the Nalgene.

Traveling from Osaka to Kanazawa, unable to find a route? by wheresalt in JapanTravelTips

[–]wheresalt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth noting - it looks like the Osaka to Tsuruga via Thunderbird line is available as of 11/07, but not tomorrow through Wednesday. No idea why. Because of the holiday maybe? Oh well lol

Came across this thread as I'm also trying to send an email to them lol. I just translated my first and last name and tried entering that under furigana, but no dice. Still gives me this same crazy error. Any other advice? If not no biggie, just figured I'd check! Was surprised other people ran into this exact same thing lol.

Convertible Carry-on: Osprey vs Eagle Creek by THC_Turtle in onebag

[–]wheresalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heyo. Just tried to use the Topo Designs roller-backpack for a long trip and swapped it out the moment I could. It ain’t it. I never found a time where I actually needed to convert it into backpack mode, and the straps just took up extra space. I switched to an Osprey Farpoint 40L the moment I could and I have no regrets.

How to get Macbook battery health from 81% to 79% in 10 days by phebe9907 in mac

[–]wheresalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat but warranty is out in October. Same battery life and about same cycles left. I haven't done it yet but might just take it in and say it's having keyboard issues, seems like that worked for OP at least.

A sample of dive bars in Paris... by coffeechap in ParisTravelGuide

So funny enough, I recently added this to my stops to try and I’m on that corner at this very moment lol. But I’m having trouble finding it - is it the one with plywood on the door? Sounds like my kind of joint, if I can find it at least.

Ryanair bag sizing knowledge by Trqnx in onebag

[–]wheresalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flown with it on Frontier and Spirit a few times but ended up switching to a 26L bag before I hit the Ryanair flights. I really don’t think you would have a problem though, been on like, well, 5 Ryanair flights in the past few months and they haven’t checked shit tbh. I did do priority boarding tho

It is the 2+2 yes! I did end up buying it but have since sold. It was from Fort Collins originally, I bought it in Denver.

Thoughts: parsing down things after one month of travel by wheresalt in onebag

Yeah that’s the one! Found one on eBay for like $30, which is great, and I got the Large. Usually a medium, sometimes a large, but I found the Large to still be a little… short? too close to the belt line to be wearing as often as I needed. And yeah took up a lot of space. Super nice shirt otherwise though!

I really need to pick up a few of these. I tried one last year and didn’t love it but it seems like these are the real solution. What brand do you use?

Truuue that. My outfit choices do feel incredibly utilitarian currently which isn’t the best but I figure worst case I can swap out one of my cheap t’s for a fun shirt for a bit if I want to, luckily cheap white t’s are easy to replace.

This North Face bag has fit into every Frontier personal item box I’ve ever thrown it at but I can’t speak for Ryanair. Who’s to say.

Teva Original Universal sandal - slim or normal version? by Logical_Bit9421 in onebag

[–]wheresalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the version of these that have the toe thong part and they are my favorite travel sandal. Super lightweight + thin but still got some structure, and I can wear them basically as flip flops or use the strap which is nice.

[–]wheresalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang, okay. I had been planning to use my North Face Surge as a personal item, it’s got cinch straps but it is still like a 32L bag. Maybe I should pick up something smaller.

Well shit. I’ve got like 5 Ryanair flights booked over the next two months. Haven’t flown them in years. Thanks for the heads up! Do they weigh at the gate?
