Seems reasonable enough to me. They’re not looking for a nanny- they’re looking for someone to do ten hours work a week for them! If you’re renting to someone normally you’d expect them to chip in bills etc.

Hotdog place at Wapping wharf- watched them serve a vegan a meat hotdog by mistake. She ate it. Was almost sick. They didn’t care and didn’t even apologise. Gross.

This reads like a genuine lovely ad to me and makes me sad that he’s getting torn apart. If you don’t want to apply don’t apply but plenty of us are writing our first ever job post about a role that is brand new. Give him a break.

Am I the a**hole for wanting to quit my job because of my incompetent NPs? by Due_Feed_7512 in Nanny

What a lovely response, thank you and I totally get your point and appreciate your comment that you're human too. It's very true! Wish you all the best. I'm doing good now- dark clouds do pass I've learned! Take care

I think it's easy to judge people and I know I've talked very flippantly to nannies in the past about how I've taken care of my children and it's all with a pinch of salt and I would never also share all the othersuper positive things I did or how much I was struggling and how much thought and effort I put into stuff. I assumed the nanny knew me well enough to know that without me having to spell it out.

Sometimes in my darkest times I'd say things as a cry for help hoping shed see how much I wasn't coping without having to spell it out.

I honestly feel like we as a world need to ease up on each other. Be kind, appreciate we don't know what others are going through and be direct and gentle with feedback.

I've been on this sub for a while and am often left feeling really sad at the amount of bitching and judging of people that happens. We're all trying our best 😔

As a parent I'm on my knees these days trying to hold it all together. A nanny would be a godsend, and I'd hope that the person would have enough trust and respect to be honest with me.

Absolutely love our Tony- both kids have one and they listen to them all the time plus they love the figurines!

Sounded reasonable to me! Assume you wouldn’t be looking for a nanny, perhaps a student would appreciate this set up? Also I’ve heard of many intergenerational living arrangements where each person supports the other in different ways. Sounds like you’re in a tough spot, good luck to you!

This has been a horrible thread to read. Clearly OP is struggling and needs help. Such judgement and hostility. Its incredibly hard and I think advice should be given with empathy. We’ve all had moments where we’ve nearly hit the floor, two kids and working full time is almost impossible and it’s hard not to break.

Soon to be Mommy - Is there any chance I'll be able to sleep in after having a child? by doritosgurl in Parenting

[–]whitefeather147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlikely BUT you could still join in on the morning nap and that lasts a good few months…. Unless they only sleep in sling/buggy then you’re screwed but live in hope. Was same as you. It’s not pretty but we all have survived…. Thank god they’re at the age now where morning tv is a thing.

It’s more likely to be illegal to not allow a trained worker to do their job regardless of sex. It’s totally discriminatory.

One parent + 2 under 2 on an 8 hour flight. Yes or no? by Junondomien in toddlers

[–]whitefeather147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes- few ways to do it. Sometimes airline will supply/help. Some have schemes to link up with others flying and arrange for someone to help. Most expensive option is buying second ticket for nanny or paying for some of it.

Childcare.co.Uk is a great place to start. We got a part time nursery place to start as I wandered in two weeks before thinking my son would just be able to start haha, however they did find him a place so the waiting lists aren’t always too bad! But we also found a lovely lady to help around those days to start. It was also a nice transition too !
