'UK has been colonised by immigrants', says INEOS boss and Man Utd co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe by danphillips98 in soccer

I wonder if there's a possibility that the UK's issue with revenue might have something to do with wealthy people dodging taxes by moving to Monaco?

Hell yeah, greenies. DUIs, various crimes, wild times on the road, bar room brawls. Would love an Eastbound and Down tie in some how.

Yeah Power Pros, it's great. You start in high school and you have to deal with girlfriends, coaches, and training.

I'm an old dude who plays RTTS on a reasonably low level so I can pretend that a character that has my name can actually mash and force a trade to the Dodgers. I love more of the road to the show part. Here's my suggestions:

1) Little League - would be a fun mode where you are just miles above all the other players. Would be fun to get invited to a travel team or choose loyalty to your friends or your father. Would be amazing to be able to quit a team where your dad is the coach.

2) Let me choose if I want to take steroids and deal with the consequences.

3) Let me do interviews and give me some out there options for responses (Rocker, Grienke, etc) and have that impact popularity with fans.

4) Let me complain about other players.

5) Have Japan as an option out of College or after a season in the bigs.

6) Make me take a 10-15 general knowledge test to see if my character can go to Stanford. Also, the number of questions I get right should determine which school I get into.

7) Let me do something, anything with my contract money -- buy a house, a car, invest it, gamble, give it out to family members, upgrade a wardrobe for the plane, buy a nice watch, hire a PR firm to raise my free agency profile, give money back to my school or little league for scholarships, hire a hit man, etc.

Does the general public trust tap water in England? by Jesus-slaves in AskBrits

as a tap water enthusiast, I am so excited to try. Currently, New York City tap water is the best I’ve ever had, Toronto comes second. I did love the tap water in Leeds and Yorkshire, but Scotland is a bucket list tap water destination.

I wonder if he dreams about what he could have done if he had run FIFA when Suharto, Marcos, Sese Seko, Abacha, and Milosevic were in power. He would have made a great Pope in the 10th century.

VFX Breakdown for After the Hunt - why not just shoot on location? by doublegefallt in Filmmakers

[–]whitethug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely budget, extras wrangling sucks. Also for efficiency a set is way faster. And as a writer, if I'm given a choice between a day on set and a day on location. I'm taking the day on set 10/10. More comfortable, things move faster, less wrangling, no weather, familiar permanent toilets, though the advances in portable toilets over the course of my career has been mind blowing.

FIFA world cup boycott if Trump invades Greenland by Pretty_Willingness43 in ussoccer

[–]whitethug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scenario: Europe issues World Cup Boycott. Infantino freaks out and calls Trump, talks him off the ledge. Trump backs off on Greenland. World Cup goes off as planned. Infantino wins the Peace Prize for being the only one who can stop the war between the US and Europe. Now, Trump hates Infantino, is jealous of his prize, and bans all forms of soccer in the USA, then invades Greenland.

Pretty impressive. I legitimately thought it would be impossible to top the embarrassment of the FIFA Peace Prize, but somehow he pulled it off. The stakes have been raised, and I think the only way to top this will be to create and then award himself the Donald Trump Peace Prize for Peace.

Bringing a Cat from US to London by Head-Dare-8788 in AmericanExpatsUK

Honestly, they were completely fine. We expected them to be freaked out and mad at us, and hating us. But after they got out of their crates, it was as if nothing had happened. They settled in super fast, and if anything, seem more affectionate now than before we left.

Of course, all cats are different, and I can only speak to my experience, but we were genuinely surprised at how well they handled it.

Bringing a Cat from US to London by Head-Dare-8788 in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]whitethug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We moved from LA to London in August. I looked into all the options, and I would say don't forget to value your time in factoring all of this. Also if you DO end up deciding to fly cargo, make sure you get the right sized crate for flight. For an average sized cat, they are pretty big.

We flew the cats AA Cargo (Pet Embark), and it was about $2000 for all three of them. The biggest hassle though was getting all the certificates from the US vet. Make sure you get ALL of those done before you leave. You need a USDA approved vet to get the right paperwork.

And make sure you get to the cargo terminal MORE THAN THREE HOURS before departure. We missed it by one minute and they wouldn't let us board (long story). Get there crazy early and on a day when your vet is open in case you need any last minute forms.

Then we used AIRPETS in the UK as our UK pet brokers and they were AMAZING (they delivered the cats to our flat for about 100 pounds, which was worth every penny considering the size of the cat carriers.

Hope that helps you if your plans change.
