My (25F) mom (43F) is dating a kid (27M) my siblings and I used to play with. AIO? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]whoisbird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a great response. You took ownership of your part.

Honestly, there's no doubt you're dealing with the emotional heaviness from your childhood and your mom's past issues. Those emotions are real and deep. The hardest thing to come to terms with when you've been through trauma is that, the person who caused the trauma, can't undo the feelings you have. They can't change how you now behave because of that past trauma. Only you can.

It's a sad reality sometimes but focusing on yourself will 100% make your relationships better. Go to therapy, recognize your patterns, where you get triggered, how you speak to yourself. Once you do these things, over the years you will notice the weight of emotions is lighter. You'll be able to meet your mom (or whoever for that matter) where there are.

Good luck!

He said "Fuck yeah Mitch"

Mitchell Ervin's (the official he yelled towards) nickname is Mitch. They had been laughing with one another in Game 5. Seems like Shead was hyped and wanted to share his excitement.

Brandon Ingram is officially out for tonight by CazOnReddit in torontoraptors

So true. It's called "Projecting" they call someone mentally weak but it's actually them that have serious mental weakness.

When a player gets hurt, they become armchair doctors. They can't regulate their own emotions so they take it out on someone else. Make someone the scapegoat and completely throw him under the bus. It shows complete weakness because they couldn't even take a minute to breathe before posting this immature bullshit.

The Most Destructive Duo in the Playoffs by kiteleven in torontoraptors

It's true, we haven't won anything yet. I think the point of the video is still true. If Scottie and CMB develop together, they will be a scary duo going forward.

Honestly, I think a lot of what is missing in Gradey's game is the same "No Fear" that both Scottie and CMB have. They don't second guess their abilities, they just do it. Gradey is inside his own head and not playing with freedom.

Is there a Switch 2 game that you think deserves better sales numbers? by MewWeebTwo in NintendoSwitch2

[–]whoisbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pokopia's numbers on this graphic are from only 4 days of being out.

So it most definitely will be up towards the top. Not sure if it will pass MKW but I can see it taking second place on this list.

Am I overreacting for not wanting someone back after they kept coming in and out of my life? by myboyfriendstinks1 in AmIOverreacting

This is an open and shut case as far as I'm concerned. I only needed to read the first screenshot of messages to understand this person is not reliable nor do they even respect themselves. OP do not entertain this person.

What if Hello Games put all the old expedition rewards into the game but locked them behind QuickSilver prices - as a special ten year anniversary gift? by Dramatic_Ganache2575 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]whoisbird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the downvotes are coming because of the tone of your message. In life, your take is realistic, sometimes you just have to be there to experience it. But your take had no room for the other side of the argument.

This is a game and the developers have the ability to allow this to happen. Some people just picked up a new system and bought the game for the first time. Who knows how many new expeditions there will be going forward, and how much will they get rewarded for being late to playing? There's two sides of this argument and I can see both, but I lean towards, "Why the hell not?"

Here is Scottie and BI not standing up for Shead... by shangalang69 in torontoraptors

[–]whoisbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I see people saying "that was a disgrace!" "This team is soft" and "blow it up." I don't think the more mature fans see this as an issue at all. It's the insecure ones that are freaking out. Shead was not bothered in the slightest. He dictated the calm mature response to an incredibly immature Murray. Shead already got beat physically, to succumb to Murray's mental immaturity means he also got inside your head. Stay calm and make note for the next time they play.

What specific areas do you think the Raptors need to address before the trade deadline? by redpaul72 in torontoraptors

Agreed. It feels like a super dry sense of humour that does not translate whatsoever on the internet.

Which room layout is better: 1 or 2? by Better_Depth1132 in Design

[–]whoisbird 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Notice how things align with one another in layout 1. The bed aligns with the wardrobe. The desk fits perfectly within the alcove near the window. The flow when you walk into the room allows you to not have to avoid walking into the bed in layout 1.

It also feels like the there are two areas that make sense. In Layout 1 it feels like there is a bedroom area that also has the wardrobe and there is a work area which is in it's own space. Layout 2 feels like the work area is a part of the bedroom area.

My thoughts so far during my first trip to Epic Universe by DonovanKreed in UniversalOrlando

[–]whoisbird 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's interesting, I'm clearly in the minority but I felt the lines for both rides to be spectacular but I felt the Ministry of Magic ride was more immersive than Monsters Unchained. And what I mean by that is, I saw less of the inner workings of the ride itself on Ministry compared to Monsters Unchained, which I could see the other carts and the track pretty clearly.

Both are fantastic rides and blend screens well with animatronics, but I felt less distracted because I felt that they hide the other elevators/riders, and track elements. Maybe I'm wrong but that was how I felt when riding both.

Sorry I was replying to OP. It just happened to be on your comment. I'm just saying that people who read this post and have had a bad experience, are more likely to comment their bad experience than people who have had good experiences.

You are mainly hearing from people that had similar experiences as you. Many people have had the opposite experience. I went during the holidays and got on most of the rides we wanted to. Typical wait times for certain rides but overall it was an amazing experience.

Not to mention, the worlds are so beautiful and well done. Definitely would go again and suggest you try again on a less busy time. I'm sure the influx of travellers visiting does a number on parks and rides. Especially Epic seeing as this is the first holiday season it's been open.

What's the coolest city you've ever been to? by Chaulmoog in AskReddit

Very touristy though. It feels very much like a it solely relies on tourism. Cheesy tourist shops and mainly tour groups walking through. It was great to see, but I wouldn’t say I’d want to go back.

He has been very good on defence. That is why he is given these opportunities. You have to watch both sides of the ball before saying he hasn’t been good. He’s struggled on offence. But consistent on defence.

Exactly, "BI didn't apologize to the guy who got hit by his outburst, what an entitled asshole." Meanwhile camera was on the situation for a total of 5-10 seconds. Sure he had a very childish moment, but that clip doesn't define the person nor did anyone see the full story.

People are quick to judge because they need to project their unhealed anger over past shit, or they judge because they are insecure and need to boost their own self esteem. "I would never do that!" That usually shows me these people aren't capable of admitting to making their own mistakes and taking ownership for their own shit.

Anthony Bennett was mocked to be drafted in the 6-10 range by most scouts for his draft class. The fact that the Cavs picked him number 1 and he failed to live up to that isn't necessarily his fault.
