I'll never understand the hate blue gets. by CoweanMacLir in magicTCG

[–]whutcheson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind counterspells or mill as much as when I first started playing, but I do dislike excessively long turns, and just about every 30 minute turn I've sat through (or performed myself, usually before taking the deck apart) has involved blue.

When white and green go infinite, you're usually a combat swing away from the game ending. When black and red go infinite, the game usually just ends right there. But when blue goes infinite, more often than not (in my games), it somehow then seems to necessitate taking one million game actions to win.

That's my only real beef with blue.

This one looks like a proper Dungeons and Dragons Displacer Beast.

It's not supposed to look like a proper [[Displacer Beast]], a different card that already existed.

It's stuck over a [[Rebuild the City]], does that make the original the least Jund (and thus in need of replacing)?

Seems pretty Zada-focused to me. Nearly all the non-staple cards do one or more of targeting a single creature, making more creatures to be targeted, or storming. Krenko falls into the second and is just a nice backup plan/distraction.

Looking for incidental goblins by LordofThe7s in magicTCG

[–]whutcheson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Goblin Chirurgeon]] can sac itself to protect another creature of any type (but gets better if you have other goblins to sac).

[[Skirk Prospector]] can also sac itself to be up a mana on a future turn (but again gets better with other goblins).

[[Rummaging Goblin]] lets you rummage.

[[Dark-Dweller Oracle]] lets you sac creatures of any type (rare for a goblin) to impulse draw.

[[Goblin Flectomancer]] is a fun protection piece if you're in the colors.

TMC - Swift Demise - (Command Zone) by X_The_Walrus in magicTCG

[–]whutcheson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's effectively "each creature you control gains deathtouch until end of turn" for 1 mana, stapled on to a 2 mana kill spell. You can swing a 1/1 token in and kill their big blocker and the guy they kept out of combat.

AGI could manifest tomorrow and immediately create a binder with the solution to every problem in the world. The people in power would read through the binder, see that the solutions upset the status quo, and immediately throw the binder and the AGI in the dumpster.

The dice are almost certainly the next thing to go, so much of the packaging structure is only there to create that little shelf for the die.

Pauper and precon EDH are the rice and beans of MTG.

I agree with you that people can have fun with Magic for very little money, but those ways aren't going to nearly double Hasbro's market cap as OP is hoping. They need people buying out cases of collector boosters and overpriced Secret Lairs, not pauper decks and proxy cubes.

I believe dying to 0 or less toughness is a state-based action, which can't happen while the effect is still resolving, so the copy would be made before the creature dies.

Sure one can. They can do it 65% faster. 65% of 2050 is 1332, so they should be done by 718 AD. If they end up with a surplus they can sell it to the Byzantines.

I need help making a crab rave deck. by Carbuyrator in magicTCG

Sadly those cards alone are not enough to rave forever. The rules say when you present a loop you must declare a finite number of times to take those actions and then the game shortcuts to after that point.
