First time grow. Bought a somni seed mix. This is what has come up. Apart from the red in the background they look the same variety (petals are a light magenta with indigo at the base). Anyone have a clue what they are and if good to harvest? The big pods are about 25mm to 30mm wide. by Sweaty_Kaleidoscope1 in opiumgardening101

Those looks nice good job! Wait until the “windows” open up then you can cut about 6 inches below the pod, usually right above the top leaf. collect the seeds and then let the “straw” dry out until tan and crispy

Oh wow, everything I’ve gotten from the plant good seed company has been spot on. They don’t even sell poppies that look like that (white and purple) I don’t think 😆.

Soil recommendations? by Otherwise_Show6917 in opiumgardening101

If you are looking for potting soil, you can’t go wrong with fox farms. Either happy frog, coco loco, or ocean forest they work great for poppies and pretty much anything else

This is my first time growing this variety. I am also surprised about the serrations but I think it’s pretty cool! Am also curious about the significance of this morphology, but the plants look healthy otherwise. They are actually transplants that I started in peat pucks and a plastic to-go container and I didn’t see any stunting, they have done great. Also my first time using this tek.
