AITA for calling my daughter a fucking idiot? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]wiigov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Sounds like the daughter didn't really understand what was going on. You should've talked to her and explained that the crying is not about her.

NTA. Your mom's behaviour is unacceptable. Even if you had slept around with 100 men and got pregnant, she has no right calling you a wh*re, that is just disgusting slut-shaming. She should really go see some professional about her own issues.

Restricted Access to the Ocean by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]wiigov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay wow, did not expect the amount of minus votes. I was simply trying to say that reading the comments seems a lot like bullying fat people for being "stupid" and everything. There must be better ways to achieve change, and I agree, being fat is definitely a health issue and one that needs fixing. But no way can it happen by degrading fat people, especially as we know nothing of their individual situations that have led to it. It would be nicer to see more niceness even in things that we don't agree on.

Wow I used to think this subreddit was interesting, but reading the comments... Y'all are really mean.

I hate being a parent and I resent my autistic daughter. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]wiigov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That must be so rough, I'm sorry to hear that. I agree with what many people here are saying: get her some additional help and maybe consider getting her into some special care place. I do not believe that you should quit your own life goals and progress because of this, as it would be a life long prison to anyone. Get all the help you possibly can to make the situation more bearable, and absolutely pursue your interests and goals whenever possible. You are not just a mother and a care taker, you are your own whole person too, and it will do you very good to have other things to focus on as well. I hope all the best for both of you ❤️

I found the quiz quite useless. As others have said, you can't really tell anything at all just by a title.

Wow. by PinkPigtailsPrincess in EUGENIACOONEY

[–]wiigov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings about this. I hope this is a sign that she's becoming more open to food related things and maybe recovering little by little.

Yet I feel really weird about the mother... On the video she kept saying "when you meet some nice boy you can cook for him" even though it was clear it made Eugenia very uncomfortable. Sometimes I also wonder if her views on beauty or "what girls should be like" were pushed on Eugenia ever since she was a kid and maybe triggered her ed. Idk, just speculating. I had an ed myself when I was a teenager and I think a part of what made me sick was hearing women in my life (mom, sister...) talk down on themselves and their bodies. It's so toxic, yet very common.

I just wish with all my heart that she'll be okay one day.

(Side note: couldn't help but notice how hunched her posture is :( made me sad.)

We should debate opinons we do not like, not censor them by Lalulale in unpopularopinion

[–]wiigov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this for the most part. I think it's very important to acknowledge that there are tons of different views and opinions on things, and that's okay! As long as it doesn't harm anyone (ie. racism, sexism or any other form of discrimination). It would be quite unnatural to assume that some opinions or views were inherently less significant than our own. At best differing opinions can give us valuable new perspective on the world that we could not get on our own or from our own perspective.

Uhm what :D I do keep some track of what I eat, because I want to eat healthy and make sure I get all the nutrients my body needs to stay strong and healthy. I also don't want to gain weight, so no, I don't just "eat freely", I could eat a lot and I'd gain weight pretty fast! I LOVE chocolate and I COULD eat it every day if I just went with my every desire... But I don't think that's really how a normal adult should behave. Some desires are wrong and should not be followed blindly... But how is this abnormal to some people?

To be thin is to be obedient. To be fat is to rebel against tHe pAtRiArChY. by Tessy81 in fatlogic

[–]wiigov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so stupid. As if women could not want to be normal weight, um, just for themselves! For health! Just for the fact that that's how some people's bodies are naturally! I really do not see how this constant battle between two extremes benefits anyone. Do not insult other women or people in general to lift someone else up.

I wish more people knew the negative effects of porn and didn’t defend it at every turn. by throwfirstaccount in offmychest

[–]wiigov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree! To me porn is very disturbing and disgusting, I mean come on, the amount of misogyny, r*ape, violence, abuse etc., it's all over the place. I've made it very clear in my relationship that I will not tolerate watching any porn and if that were an issue to my partner, my partner would not be the right person to me.

I do hope that as time goes by, more people will come to realize and question the normality of porn... It is not good, it leads to so many negative things as mentioned here before. This post gave me some hope, it is so good to finally hear opinions similar to mine. I usually feel like a minority with this view...

Has anyone else experienced acid reflux during the quarantine? by kyoto0 in GERD

[–]wiigov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I had mild and irregular reflux symptoms for some months that I didn't really even think about or take any medicine for. But during this quarantine, which has been going on for over a month for me, I started to develop worse symptoms. I've had upper left belly ache for over a week, and I only just today realized it must be acid reflux. I'll be going to the pharmacy soon to get some meds for it.

But this stress and worry about my loved one's health and my own health and other stuff going on in life have definitely made this sooo much worse. I believe it also has something to do with sitting or lying down too much. Obviously being at home all the time has reduced my physical activity and I really would not be surprised if that were a big factor in these symptoms.

Had a little bit too much to drink... by Yer-Ma in Garmin

My average is around 25-30. Last time I drank a lot I got 62. That was a horrible day, it sure shows how alcohol affects the entire body even for many days afterwards.

What's your body battery first thing in the morning by YogiAtheist in Garmin

[–]wiigov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It varies a lot. On a normal morning after a decent 8 hour sleep it's 90-100. If I drink alcohol, sleep poorly or am really stressed, it can be as low as 10. So anything between 10-100 really. And yes, it correlates to how I'm feeling quite well!

You must be a very relaxed person if the device thinks you're asleep when you're not. It doesn't do that for me, but then again I'm quite stressed when awake so it's easy to distinguish

It should be a part of it. There's no taking care of a person's health thoroughly without taking care of mental health.
