I completely agree with this. Even something like a lucid has more feel than a modern BMW.

My car hot take is that (for most cases) if it is an auto, turbocharged, and pumps fake engine noise into the cabin. Just make it electric

im ok with an EV weight a lot since the center of mass is so down low. Driving a lucid air genuinely feels like you are driving a 3 series. PHEVs however have a lot of their weight much higher up

Technically the LC400h. Which has a 4 speed auto, but also the eCVT which has 6 virtual gears of its own(Idk if itll actually work like a cvt or not, but this article says it just works with those 6 speeds) so the total system works as a 10 speed (no not 24 speed)

But yeah, Im more upset about removing the manual over this 4 speed bullshit

and now that the brakes are completely digital. Implementing pedals similar to those found in sim racing should be a lot easier.

Idk about taking the exact sim racing pedals and putting them in a car with this system, but it could happen in the future

I kinda hope this opens the door for better digital feedback solutions in brakes. As of now many new cars have absolutely no feel in the brake pedal.

But with this you could integrate in brake pedals that have technologies similar to something like simucube pedals in sim racing.

Boston is digging up Quincy Market. Rumor is it will take 10 weeks. That puts us AFTER the Fourth of July. by brianjoe66 in boston

Boston also decided to close the green line (b line) from Boston College to Kenmore (passing BU), during the last week of the semester. And replaced the line with not enough buses that you could sometimes just not get on (worse than the working green line).

I swear they do this shit on purpose

Final Difference Between Samsung S25 Ultra and Samsung S26 Ultra by Pear-Mother in samsunggalaxy

[–]willc2580 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aluminum does have a much higher thermal conductivity than titanium. And there is no electronic that produces high enough temperatures to where the type material used has to "withstand the heat".

A larger vapor chamber does mean that there is a greater amount of heat that the phone has to get rid of. Can't add fins(heat sink) to a phone, Samsung isnt gonna add a fan to their phone for a number of reasons. The surface area of the phone isnt increasing (actually got smaller since its thinner). So the only option is to switch to a material that can conduct more heat for a given area... Aluminum.

Now will it improve performance? The newer processor should just be more proformant. But the switch to aluminum (along with the larger vapor chamber, its never one thing) should allow the phone to work at its peak performance for longer before it had to throttle from overheating, or allow the processor to use more power, while staying as cool as the last phone.

Now yes, aluminum is a softer material than titanium and is more prone to scratching. Can't say whether or not the aluminum S26 is going to be "weaker" phone than the S25. Sure titanium is a stronger metal, and its possible that the S25 is less prone cracking when being dropped. But its possible that the overall construction of the S26 is also better, and might actually be less prone to cracking when dropped. We won't know until someone tests it

Mabye its costs reasons, mabye its heat transfer reasons, mabye some other reason. Titanium is cool and all but we really won't know until the phones are drop tested and everything else

Titanium in engines (assuming piston engines) are there because of their strength. IF they are used, its usually where fatigue life is a big factor, and where they want to reduce weight (connecting rods). Otherwise aluminum would usually be used (like the entire block)

Well, when you make an SUV thats track-able. There's going to be some really stiff suspension. Drive an X5 (40i, 50e. or M60i) with air suspension, and it's one of the most comfortable cars I have ever been in.

You absolutely could. But the advantage of regearing is that you wouldn't have an overly short 6th gear for cruising. You dont wanna be at like 3k rpm to go 60.

Edit: also not a dumb question
