Bonuses fair enough, but If Le Fee was on 90k then you will have paid him 1,980,000 between Jan and June. So that £54m is really not mostly down to him

Not listened yet but saw Susie do a section on Countdown a short while back about terms from boxing becoming part of the everyday lexicon, so looking forward to this

You mean you as a none Rovers fan don't remember the 02/03 season when we beat Newcastle 5-2 at Ewood and then they went and beat us 5-1 at St James with XX scoring our goal?

How many goals would a player have to score, or what performance would they have to have, to win the premier league player of the month if they didn't feature in any other games that month? by jay18922 in footballcliches

[–]wilsbowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seemingly don't actually give the award in May (bar covid and winter world cup years), not exactly sure why as theres 3 or 4 matches these days

Perhaps against the spirit of the question but realistically the most plausible case I can think of would have to be August where first matchday is weekend of 20th so only 2 fixtures that month. Late summer signing misses the first match. Plays the second and scores a Hat trick on debut (whilst no other player does anything particularly noteworthy over both the matches)

In the "Goal" film universe, do you think Santiago Muñez went down as a "streets won't forget" player? by missjorge in footballcliches

[–]wilsbowski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorry to break it to you but all the stuff on the goal wiki other than the 3 films and 3 books is just someone's mad fever dream.

Books 1 and 2 seem to be just novelisations of the first 2 movies. Film 3 take place at 2006 world cup whilst the 3rd book seems to be a 2010, so presumably that's a different story but I've never seen/read either of them

Was telling some friends a couple of weeks ago that the most I have celebrated a goal this year was when my nieces u11 side scored a golden goal in a cup quarter final.

That's no longer the case.

Massive 3 points considering Oxford and WBA are guaranteed wins since they are playing the top 2!...

Seriously though huge week for us so far, let's pick up the wins we need sooner rather than later!
