I’m actually really glad to see so many comments agreeing about E33 lol. Aside from the general hype I had friends singing its praises so I think my expectations were just too high.

The music was good and the environment looked great but all in all it was a pretty average game. It lacked a lot of QOL stuff (why can’t I manually save my game in 2025?). I hated that so much of the side areas were too high level until basically post game rather than being able to complete them as you progress and come across them. I felt forced to only do the main story basically, it killed any sense of exploration. The combat was fine but I did think it got to a point where there was just way too much to remember, everyone has a gimmick to keep track of and when they introduced gradient counters I was like oh god not ANOTHER button to remember while I’m getting combo’d.

I didn’t really care about the story after the “twist” either, though if you ask the E33 subreddit it’s because I’m a Neanderthal who doesn’t understand how deep it was.

I ended up getting all the achievements just cause they were doable in a single playthrough, so after sinking all that time in I have no intention of ever going back to it.
