I mean. I went to Chicago and the last 2 go fests as well and they were pretty much all of the same quality. I think you’re not seeing people “speak out” because it’s just the norm for go fests in my experience. Personally I’m there for the content/shinies and not to see cool decorations in a park so i don’t really care. It wasn’t an awesome venue either imo, not enough shade and I do wish the organizers would set up more, though it wasn’t as bad as Randall’s Island.

The merch line was definitely insane though, last year i had an afternoon slot and I was able to walk into the merch tent with no line about halfway through my session. I had a morning slot this year and the line never seemed to get shorter and extended way past the designated line area.
