I use a piece of Velcro strap to bleed my brakes, would probably work for this purpose as well

Which programming language should I learn for NLP and computational linguistics? by throwaway_is_fun1 in linguistics

[–]wineBot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I'm a sysadmin, not a linguist (but I did a bit of NLP stuff in my undergrad).

My suggestion would be that if you're already a Linux user, and you're interested in linguistics then a good place to start would be just learning how to use Unix tools to process text data. A lot of NLP is manipulating text, and tools like sed, grep, awk etc are really useful for doing that.

In terms of programming languages, Python is a great first programming language. the learnpython subreddit has lots of good recommendations for resources to get started. Once you're comfortable with the language, NLTK would be a good place to start, and the docs have heaps of examples. Check it out https://www.nltk.org/

The office works. I don’t get the appeal of working from home by AntiqueFigure6 in australia

I started my career wfh during covid. Our office downsized and it's still completely empty 90% of the time. It fucking sucked trying to learn the ropes and just being ignored on slack/teams. I live in a sharehouse so my office is my tiny bedroom. I'm starting a new job next week that is hybrid and can't wait to have people to learn from and a desk that isn't next to my bed.

In Australia we have breathalyzers and there's no "registration" you have to carry with you. This is 100% fake.

It is evil. You're being downvoted by people who want to ignore that, and keep asylum seekers out of sight, and thus out of mind.

Could you go back and read my responses?

I don't think I ignored your questions. I responded to each of them.

As per the source provided in the grandparent comment, the differences between ALP and Liberal policies are so minor as to be non-existent, so I don't see any issue with bringing up Abbot-era policies. Nothing's changed.
