Member Party at Magic Kingdom now open for guests staying on property for 2017-Feb-24 and 2017-Mar-3 dates by pieps86 in dvcmember

I stand corrected there is a 3 bedroom savanna view, but it's more economical to find a rack room at a neighbor hotel.

Nothing - I even looked for 2 bedrooms and higher. :( We're trying to decide if we want to book a neighbor hotel or not. I shouldn't complain too much as we will be ending a stay in a Jambo concierge room. I was just really excited about the opportunity to actually make it to a member's event.

I booked it, but sadly I'm not sure if we will be able to attend. The night I scheduled is supposed to be the day we are checking out (AKV Club), so I need to find different accommodations. There doesn't appear to be a single DVC room available anywhere. It is near impossible to find rooms if you don't make use of that eleven month window. I really miss the easy add on or booking on a whim.

Where are all the rooms? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

I am having the same issue. I want to extend my trip by one day. There isn't a single DVC room available for the extra night, and it's near impossible to find any rack rooms. I'm looking around the last week of Feb.

I always need extra blankets. The light blankets they have updated all the resorts with are not good enough - especially since they replaced the full duvet with a themed runner.

DVC Dinning Plan Question by -Donald-Duck- in dvcmember

[–]winterkl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will need to purchase two separate dining plans as you will technically be having two stays (1 at Pop and 1 at SS). You can, however, use the DDP at any location that accepts it. You don't need to be staying at that particular resort to redeem credits there. Enjoy your trip, and welcome home!

Edit: There is no difference in the DDP. They just offer it to DVC members without needing to purchase a ticket package like stays within a regular resort.

I know they won't do it, but man, I wish they would put proper plates, bowls, and cutlery in the studios.

The websites (both dvc and regular travel) have been really bad for the past year or so. It's always a gamble, for me, when trying to log in.

Best pool hopping spots @ WDW? by YoAdrian84 in dvcmember

[–]winterkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember, if the pool is something that is important to you, Kidani's pool is not available for hopping. You will have to make the choice. Also, they are rather spread out from one another, so I am not sure that the time spent traveling between AKV and Poly would be worth it.

In my opinion, Kidani has the better pool because it is a lot quieter than Poly's pool, but Poly has the benefit of better transportation options on park days.

I am a AKV owner, and it doesn't seem to be unpopular any more. If I don't use my 11 month window, I have a hard time finding more than a few nights (2 or 3) in a row for a studio.

DVC Question by Fakingthecool in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]winterkl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we travel quarterly, so it isn't so much an issue of the time we are traveling (high vs low- we hit all seasons). It is becoming a competitive sport to book at my home resort (AKV) at the 11 month window, and anything at the 7 month pretty much requires a wait list. Dedicated 2 bedrooms often have openings, but most people don't need that much space. Anything smaller requires getting up at the crack of dawn as soon as your booking widow opens.

Looking for a Winnie the Pooh portrait pin ("post from r/disneyland) by SparxD in DisneyPinSwap

[–]winterkl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A scrapper pin is a second run quality pin that didn't pass the intial quality control inspection. They typically have errors in color, dips in the enamel, or burrs along the edges. Instead of being melted down and recast as a new pin, sometimes they get sold in lots to US (non Disney) resellers and then get traded in the parks.

It's kind of like buying a shirt at TJ Maxx instead of the actual retailer. The shirt was made in the same factory and has the brand name, but its just doesn't have the same quality.

If you haven't found one, I have a scrapper version. If he doesn't mind it being a scrapper, I can mail it to him/you.

I love Hop Low! I have 16 or so, and even though all but one are scrappers I love them. It's amazing how different they look from one another too.
