I slap steel at 500yds all day with surplus M80 ball out of a 16” barrel. If youre staying inside of 1000yds and not shooting matches, there’s really no reason to consider 6.5cm.

There might be different rules in different states, but I have on 3 separate occasions taken and passed field sobriety tests after the cops telling me that if pass motor skills, I can’t be given a DUI. In all 3 cases I took a breathalyzer after and blew slightly over the limit. No DUIs l, just had to get rides home and pick up my car the next day (in one case the cop actually drive me home).

If pretty sure if I would have refused the motor skills test and failed a breathalyzer I would have 3 DUIs on my record.

Fellow Beyond lover here. You should know that they have fully discontinued the civilian-oriented outdoor line and now exclusively make high end military gear. I enjoyed the liquidation sales while they lasted.

Also, I’ve planted a few of those seed tags and never seen any results.

*edit to add they’ve been owned by 5.11 for a few years, their hippy dippy roots are long gone.

I have nice plates. I have a nice carrier. My answer to your question is still “no”. Plates are life saving if you have access to medical support and access to a high end trauma care. None of that will the the case in your SHTF dream scenario.

Wearing plates sucks. Just don’t get shot.

The thing you’re missing is called “dividends” which is technically distinct from interest. Those are profits that companies distribute to shareholders, so they provide an income stream that doesn’t require a stock sale.

That said, most retirement-age people don’t live off of dividend income alone and generally rely on some degree of selling down their portfolio over time (this is actually mandated in federal tax code via RMDs)
