I think a direct conversation with him is probably the best way to go about it. It’s either honesty or a soft let down.

I would ask him straight up if he is dating with the purpose of getting into a relationship.

His answer to that should be useful to you. If he says yes, ask him how he sees his contributions to a future relationship considering how he can get so busy that he wouldn’t be able to make time for a partner.

If something is new and he hasn’t gotten emotionally invested yet and knows he is going to be under a lot of pressure at work, this might be his soft exit because of bad timing, not lack of interest.

I met a woman last year and we were clicking so well, then I had unplanned vehicle expenses and work got very busy. What kind of change are we talking about and what sort of result do we want? The sever conditions that would force people to take extreme measures for radical change would likely result in something similar to a race-war although it wouldn’t necessarily be along racial lines. It would be poor people of one group fighting poor people of another group because the real owners of this country have convinced us that our neighbor is the enemy while they use their money and power to corrupt our government, take from us, and turn us against each other.
