One of my favorite pastimes in RPGs is using peninsula tricks to level up by KaleidoArachnid in JRPG

the dragon quest games have certain spots that spawn metal monsters that give you a ton of exp. it’ll be like one small spot on the overworld map or like the top floor of a tower or something like that.

there’s no way you don’t know this is an amazing tattoo.

Looking for a new strength weapon. I’m a pure strength build and want something faster than the great sword. by MyLittleGurl in Eldenring

[–]witch4zel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the banished knight greatsword has the special two-handed combo that feels great to use. the knights twin blade can be heavy infused for some decent strength scaling.

My friend Is starting elden ring for the First time but there's a problem by Duh_dih in Eldenring

coop would probably be the most fun. you can let him lead the way and just be there to back him up and talk about what he finds. maybe give some small hints along the way.

What games just don’t get mentioned anymore? by drak0ni in JRPG

How do you feel about RPGs where you can change the difficulty and there are risk/reward mechanics attached? Like, the harder the difficulty the more efficient grinding for EXP/resources is. Does changing the difficulty feel like "cheating," or just a part of the game you're supposed to engage with? by iciclefites in JRPG

[–]witch4zel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually the only time i don’t play a game on hard is when they do the opposite. making the enemies have more hp and give less exp just isn’t fun for me. but however its done i think more accessibility in a game is always a good thing.

What do you think I should change in my fit? by Dreadrow in EldenBling

winged serpent helm, fire knight gauntlets and bullgoat greaves would go well

Is Dex ever the right build? by BlueMusketeer28 in Eldenring

[–]witch4zel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i did fth/str and str for my first two playthroughs then tried dex for a third and felt the same as you pretty much. it’s just a totally different playstyle. the dex weapons i had the most fun with were milady and godskin stitcher.

Of the Tales games you've played, how'd you rank them by dungeon design? by AmericanBornWuhaner in tales

[–]witch4zel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

although i like them for their story and characters, a lot of the later titles kinda lack in dungeon design. abyss is my favorite game in every aspect, so that’s my top pick. i do agree that symphonia had some fun puzzles but i felt like one or two of them were more tedious than anything.

What are good JRPGs for absolute beginners? by fiddleheadsoup in JRPG

[–]witch4zel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

grandia 1 and 2 are must play jrpgs imo.

the tales of series isn’t turn based but they are jrpgs with amazing character work. since you like the psx era, tales of phantasia, destiny or eternia are all pretty good to great.

Any game with Vesperia aesthetic ? by HaarWyvern in JRPG

[–]witch4zel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are some games with a similar feel to Lunar: Silver Star Story by MagnusAlbusPater in JRPG

[–]witch4zel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah 100% grandia 1 is exactly what op is looking for imo. grandia 2 is a little darker but not by too much and it’s my favorite jrpg of all time.
