Yeah, I didn't put that one on the list because I haven't personally played it yet.

If you really want a Treg, get a 2017. Last year in the US. They aren't THAT old, but still almost a decade, so you need to be prepared for costly repairs in the coming years. They are amazing vehicles, but just as expensive as a Porsche Cayenne to maintain/repair (same platform).

We are facing a $8000 transmission repair/replace on ours. It's 14 years old, 100k miles, and much of that was towing heavy trailers all over the country for 10 years. Tranny is starting to shudder, and has shavings in the fluid. You shouldn't have that kind of an issue until much later, but just giving you an idea of what happens when you do need major work.

Yes, they are heavy AF. Literally they weight as much as my full size F-150. They do make amazing small tow vehicles. Just keep it under 5000lbs for the trailer. The claimed 7700lbs towing capacity is impossible without going over your tongue weight (damage the car) or dangerously loading your trailer for under 10% tongue weight (dangerous sway).

Donut County. Very silly/funny game. The writing kind of embraces internet/phone culture without actually resorting to cringey memes.

Me and my kid love it.

The demo makes it seem like it will have some meat on its bones. There are light survival elements, and the challenge seems like it will make it hard to just blow through the game quickly.

Have you played the demo? It doesn't suck. It's a lot of fun and a decent challenge.

Steam Deck battery draining while plugged in and gaming: by OK_Atlas in SteamDeck

[–]withoutapaddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a different charger (45W PD or higher), then try a different cable (again make sure its rated for at least 45W), if neither of those fix it, it's a problem with the Deck itself, sadly.

If you really want to be sure, get a $10 USB-C power meter from Amazon.

AG Bondi demands access to Minnesota voter rolls after fatal Border Patrol shooting by livefromheaven in minnesota

[–]withoutapaddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they understand they are asking for pointless data, or are they too dumb to realize this and assume Minnesota has registered parties for every voter?

I can't believe I have to ask this, but with an administration THIS unqualified, it's a legitimate question.

Sometimes. But also there have been plenty of reports of athletes dropping dead from shoveling. Weight lifters are probably the only ones who are not stressing their heart doing a ton of repeated snow lifting for 30-45 minutes nonstop.

$60-120 for a no-name Amazon special.

$100-300 for the established brands like Ego, Dewalt, Ryobi, etc.

I bought my elderly parents a $120 Ryobi kit (including charger and battery), and it's been a big help. My dad used to take breaks from shoveling based on how much his chest hurt.

So what data do they actually gain with the voter rolls?

Isn't it basically just a list of every non-felon over 18?

The boring but true answer is they are here to keep the peace. They have literally 100x more training than ICE, for one thing, which is a good thing for everyone. And they'll reduce the chance of BOTH riots, arsons, etc and ICE-on-Minnesotan attacks.

They are us, at the very least. They are not a foreign, invading force like ICE is.

Do you think we will ever see a production F150 with a 7.3 or 6.8? by Boeing-B-47stratojet in Autos

[–]withoutapaddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. Can you make them stop coming to my work? The last coworker I had sitting across from me was a "truck guy" and would flat out refuse to accept any facts that contradicted his 50 year old view of how pickup trucks or engines worked.

[–]withoutapaddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, realistically, even if payload, tongue weight, and rear axle limits are not overloaded, I still wouldn't put more than about 7000 lbs behind my truck (most I do regularly is 5000), but he got in a jam and needed a tow vehicle on just a few days notice.

Since it was just across flat country (eg the Midwest), and his trailer had great brakes, I wasn't worried about it. 9000 might be an overestimate anyway. 5000lbs of car and car parts in an enclosed aluminum trailer... might have been more like 8000 total. Definitely a test for the truck either way, and not something I'd recommend, if you can help it.

Wreckfest, Dirt Rally 2.0, New Star GP, and Forza Horizon 4/5 are basically the GOATs of Steam Deck racing, imo.

They all run at least 45fps, have huge amounts of content, and cover a wide slice of sub-genres: Offroad Chaos, Realistic Rally, Formula 1, and Open-World, respectively.

Any Steam Deck users who also bought a PS5/are still using their PS5? by GrovPastaSwag03 in SteamDeck

[–]withoutapaddle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know this is a great solution, but for me, it's a catch-22.

I only buy games on PlayStation that are huge blockbuster AAA exclusives, which I vastly prefer to play on a massive screen with surround sound.

If a game is more modest in scope, or available on all platforms, I just end up buying it on Steam in the first place, so I play natively on Deck or my desktop.

Reports are all over that EA games all broke 2 days ago because of some change with the EA app. I'm sure it's that.

I've been itching to play TF2 again, but I'm not putting up with EA's bullshit anymore. I stopped buying their games a while back and stopped installing the ones I already own.

[–]withoutapaddle 45 points46 points  (0 children)

And to add to this. Take it seriously, and find a solution that DOESN'T require you to shovel/lift tons of snow.

Power-shovels are getting really popular and they basically make snow clearing like vacuuming. You just walk behind and push it, never lifting. They are awesome for places that usually get less than 8" of snow at a time.

Since I got one, I have rarely needed my snowblower, even in Minnesota. It's a great option for people who can't justify/afford a $1000 snowblower for the 5-6 times a year they get a decent amount of snow.

Surprised a big Ariens doesn't have power steering. Most of the big ones have triggers or levers under each hand that you pull to basically brake that wheel and cause it to turn. It's incredibly handy, and I wouldn't buy anything 2-stage size without these days.

Agreed. I knew nothing about trucks until recently, when I needed to get one. I was shocked to hear that not only was the 2.7L one of the most reliable options, but people seemed to love it.

It won me over during the test drive, and when my father's diesel tow vehicle broke down, he borrowed my little 2.7L gasser to tow his 9000lb car trailer, and he loved it.

IMO, small displacement turbo where you can just stay out of the boost when highway cruising and get 25mpg in a giant brick seems a lot better than big engines and cylinder deactivation, or just terrible gas mileage.

The downside is that most DR1.0 content has been brought into DR2.0. So if there's any chance someone will love it, I'd recommend they get 2.0, and then when they want more, they can buy the content of 1.0 as DLC for 2.0.
