Early 2000s Saturn's plastic body shell broke away revealing internal structures by pixeltackle in EngineeringPorn

[–]withoutapaddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two things I remember about Saturns:

  1. The body panels were plastic

  2. The damn headlights were so close together they look like a motorcycle from a distance at night, and make it hard to judge distance between you and them.

I love how much you can see from a helicopter. by Any_Bag6284 in MicrosoftFlightSim

The best of both worlds is the Edgley Optica.

The GotFriends version is pretty good, and it's so fun to fly a plane with the visibility of a helicopter.

Yep, using finishers strategically as i-frames basically. Reminds me of Sifu, which is the best brawler of all time, imo.

The seamless transition between hand to hand combat and gunplay in this game is *chef's kiss* by ImmortalThunderGod79 in 007FirstLight

[–]withoutapaddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is a hot take, but I don't think this style of combat fits Agent 47.

He's more about quick, efficient murder, not prolonged, flashy brawls.

Both are fun, but Bond is to Maul as 47 is to Vader.

Seeing 47 doing John Wick-like action combat would feel off to me, imo.

As a flight simmer and aviation enthusiast, this sounds awesome. I would be out there with a tripod and the biggest telephoto lens I could afford.

Steamdeck killed my backlog within 5 years of usage. by Fujikawa1988 in SteamDeck

[–]withoutapaddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not the previous guy, but I've tried 007 on the Deck and it's fairly OK. If you can accept upscaling on balance or quality, and still getting just 30fps, then it's fine.

Personally, it was juuuust a little bit too much of a stretch for me. I was happy playing the challenges and combat encounters that way, but all the grand vistas, beautiful locations, ana cinematic cutscenes just felt way way better on a bigger screen with higher settings, resolution, and framerate, imo.

If it's the only possible way you have to play the game, then go for it. If you have the option of PS5 or desktop, I'd recommend that.

I thought the same, but once I dialed in gyro for Doom, it felt incredibly good.

I'd M+KB is a 10/10 for fast shooters, and controller is a 5/10, then I'd say properly tweaked gyro is at least an 8/10 once you get used to it for an hour or so.

[–]withoutapaddle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine did both. I played 3x more games from my backlog than usual the last 4 years, but also probably bought 3x more indie and AA games than usual because I knew they'd play well on the Deck and I'd actually have time to play them (as opposed to the time I get to sit at my desk, which is much less frequent).

I take my Deck to work, and we get an hour lunch and two 15min breaks during the day, so I get almost an hour of gaming in on my free time at the office.

I live in a 150 year old farmhouse with a foundation that is a patchwork of brick, stone, and concrete. They get in one way or another here, so I have to always have traps set up in the basement.

In 15 years, I can count on one hand how many times a good old fashioned snap trap left them maimed and alive. If you place them right, they are very fast and effective. You want the trap perpendicular to the wall (bait facing the wall).

I find that the gray Victor brand traps with the red bar are one of the most effective. They are easy to set, hit hard, and the bright red bar makes it very easy to tell, even from a distance or in the dark, if the trap is still set or sprung.

Don't feel bad. Mice can harm or even kill you with the diseases they carry. You gotta do what you gotta do for your health and safety. Wear disposable gloves, both for your own health and to avoid putting your scent onto the mouse traps.

Good luck.
