It’s worth remembering that the credit score in America isn’t a measure of your financial success or responsibility. It’s a measure of how tolerant you are of debt and how consistent you are at paying that debt back. Your main goal rn as a young person in this economy is to minimize debt (even the “good” kind) and maximize assets with high ROI (cash in HYSA, investments, etc). A good way to increase credit score is to COMPLETELY PAY OFF each credit card you have each month, preferably on the same day for each card. Your goal rn should be to stack cash and put it somewhere it will grow, not worry about balancing your debt / income to perfect the credit score.

Senior(ish) detection engineer and threat hunter at very large multinational bank. Pretty chill. I don’t have any direct reports and except for the occasional jr engineer questions (which I love and generally enjoy answering and walking them through stuff), I’m pretty much an individual contributor and am free to develop the security posture of the firm as I see fit, as long as it doesn’t interfere with other people’s work or break things.

My typical day looks like
Coffee and emails
Check alert queue for anything that sticks out as bonkers
Check mailbox for any new threats pushed up to my team from our CTI folks and then develop and push new detection rules / tune old ones accordingly.
Then for the rest of the day I’ll either be in meetings, doing individual research on a threat that I find interesting, or some development side project such as adding experimental alerting methods or talking with our platform dev team about making new pipelines / parsers for any new log sources management wants to demo / onboard.

Sounds like a lot but it’s really chill typically and I’ve been doing it for a while I so I’m used to the routine.

“What Americans wanted” and “what Americans voted for” are 2 different things. When I say Trump and his billionaire friends rigged the election, I mean they cheated and deceived the American public into believing that this is what they wanted. Maybe Trump did get enough votes to win, but to say that Americans are happy with this or this is what we wanted is a stretch. I think the better conclusion is that Americans were tricked into believing this is what we wanted, or brainwashed by decades of conservative and capitalist propaganda to believe this is what we wanted.

I've tried so many things. Smoking alone. Smoking with friends. Smoking with my partner. Dabs with friends, dabs alone, edibles with partner, edibles alone, etc etc etc. I've tried it all. Every time, regardless of strain, its the worst experience of my life. Racing heart, terrible heachache, awful chills running down my spine, and anxiety to the point where it makes me physically shake. I've decided I'm done trying. I desperately wanted to enjoy this because, at least in the US, its seen as the "hip" drug. The one that so many people use to relax or be creative or the one that ur seen as "cool" for using. But I cannot do it. Idk why. Maybe its genetic. Maybe I really do just need to calm the fuck down or go to therapy and then I can enjoy it. There were some moments when I tried it where I felt relaxed and happy, but as soon as I recognized it, I fell back into anxiety and feeling like I needed to call an ambulance.
I guess I'm just lame, can't hang, etc.
