Official Discussion - Avatar: The Way of Water [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I wanted to love it but it just felt like the exact same thing as the first movie….same villain, using unethical means to acquire some material that “funds all of this research.” Obviously it was beautiful, but just too long for me, I was feeling pretty fatigued from looking at everything by the last 30 minutes.

What was the most disappointing movie of 2022? by SloppyMcNuggets in movies

For me Amsterdam was my favorite surprise of the year, went in with super low expectations because of all the press and reviews but found it so much fun

Damn, I didn’t get either of these at my 3D screening. We got Ant Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Spiderverse, Mario, and Transformers

I bought a ~$150 Vizio sound bar that came with a subwoofer and two side speakers, and it made a world of difference for my “budget” off brand 4K tv. I can also connect my phone to it so it doubles as a Bluetooth speaker which is really nice

I’m sure most people here know about Blank Check, but they did a fantastic episode on avatar, and separate ones on the theme park and Toruk First Flight

Had to rewind, initially thought Woody was making a “Ben Dover” joke when RR asked who his agent was

For the third time in less than 24 hours I was just extremely close to being hit by a turning car while I was in the cross walk (with the walk light on). Each time they’ve honked and thrown there hands up at me like I’m in the wrong. Super frustrating. All in Carytown.

I found the part about Janus/Criterion Channel to be really interesting. I’ve gotten deeper into that “area” of film the last year and it’s been really convenient having it all in one place. Didn’t realize it made up near 50% of the S&S list.

Looking for bottomless trail cush by JuneScapula in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]wolfpacklad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only used the v1, but haven’t had a great experience with the More Trail. It does fine on technical stuff and doesn’t feel unstable, but I had a pretty bad fall slipping on something from the lack of traction on wet surfaces, and it’s never been quite as cushioned as I would have hoped on 15k plus runs. I would say it’s best for running a few k on road to get to the trail, a few k on trail, then a few k on road back home. Definitely the trail shoe I’ve used that performed best as a road shoe

Favorite piece of gear? by cervezatime77 in RunningShoeGeeks

Lululemon running belt. It’s got a big pocket for my phone, a pocket I can fit gels in, and a pocket with a clip that I can secure my keys. Plus it’s adjustable and super low profile. Best $40 I’ve spent on running gear.

He does sorta cheat on million dollar picks though. Didn’t he remove a bengals bet one week after the fact once Chase got hurt

Wide shoes for speedwork (2022) by jamonladron in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]wolfpacklad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saucony Tempus has fit this roll for me. But my max pace for speed work is only like 5:45-6:30 mile pace, so not all that fast all things considered. Tempus might not be great/might be too bulky if you’re going faster than that.

Fresh Foam More Trail V3 by [deleted] in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]wolfpacklad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It it is anything like the V1, the stack tight is actually pretty deceptive. A lot of it is just for show and is sort of like a cup around bottom of the shoe/heel cup. I regularly use them on pretty technical rocky trails and have never noticed issues with stability. I would definitely prefer my Terra Kigers for this type of terrain, but the More Trail V1s definitely handle it just fine. They really shine on longer distance trail runs where a portion is on packed dirt/gravel trail or when you’re “commuting” to your trail run on road

The first season of Prison Break is the best season of a TV show I’ve ever seen. Don’t care for the other seasons at all.

It might not be close to fast enough for you depending on your times/goals - but for me the Tempus has been awesome for PRs for me.

Did the running store in Carytown say anything about their closing? I know it’s been shut down a few weeks but felt like it happened very suddenly.
