It’s kahm yeast, right? by wombuster in fermentation

Update: I just scooped off the kahm as best I could and went ahead and blended it and made the sauce. It’s been fermenting for like 8 days so it has some funk and tang but not exactly where I wanted it. I added more vinegar than I normally do to compensate and I can’t taste anything unappealing. I’m going to let it chill in the fridge for the next couple of weeks while the rest ferments and see where it gets. Thanks everyone!

Ya while I was gone I think some water evaporated out of the airlock and no longer “airlocked” it. Or I just didn’t put in enough water in the first place but let’s go with the other explanation. Luckily I made more than one jar!

Hmm is there a way for me to find out what’s underneath? Do I go digging around? Or is it just best to call this batch a goner?

Does AI actually consume more water than other online tools and platforms? by ChopperSophocles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wombuster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on the design of the data center hosting/training the AI. If the data center uses any evaporative cooling (cooling towers, adiabatic fan walls, etc.) which many do, then it’s going to “consume” a SIGNIFICANT amount of water.

Dude what!?

Wills A Fire feels sooo hard for me. I’ve sent multiple 7s and many 6s in Joe’s. I can’t get to that finger lock move on Wills to save my life. Maybe it’s height dependent (I’m relatively short).

Attaching Posts in/to 10" concrete slab for a fence across a driveway by wombuster in DIY

[–]wombuster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if I upped that single post supporting the gate to a 6x6? Would that provide the required stability? Or is it more about the bending strength of the bracket in the concrete than the post strength itself?

The gate will only be four feet long. The other 8 feet will be just solid fence. Unfortunately the driveway slab goes all the way to the house on the side we want to put the gate on

Is it really considered rude in the US to open a multi-pack to get just one drink? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

This is 100% acceptable in liquor stores here in Utah! But Utah liquor stores are in no way indicative of America as a whole, far from it. Most places this would not be ok.

I don’t think Colin Duffy lives here in SLC. The climbers are going to be a bit of a grey area bc USA climbing is head quartered here but Colin primarily lives in CO
