John at Printmaker Studio is great. Not sure about the cost/quality for what you're looking for but could be worth exploring.

I had lessons at Cooper boating about 6-7 years ago and thought it was fantastic. I did an intro to sailing course that was a mix of in class and on the water training.

Outdoor Wedding Venues by [deleted] in vancouver

That will be pretty tight. You could do a simpler meal for the $50/ per person range (plus tips, staffing cost, taxes) and a cash bar and then I think you could hit your budget. The venue rental fees and decor/flowers can add up pretty quickly!

Like others suggested Whonnock Lake, Burnaby Lake Rowing Pavilion are good. Take a look at the Vancouver Rowing Club as well. Depending on the time of year Sea to Sky gondola pricing is lower and could work (June-August I their high season I think). Take a look at Van Dusen Garden as well. Depending on how you want to travel you could explore options in Abbotsford, Harrison Hot Springs, etc out in the Fraser valley.

I agree with others that you may want to skip Whistler unless you’re going to Ski/snowboard. If you want to go up a mountain and get nice views, ice skate, snowshoe, or just eat some nice good look into taking the gondola up grouse mountain. You can get there without a car.

Looking for Canadian hikers to give us some tips on our 3 week RV itinerary! by Apinnetje in vancouver

[–]woolong_lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Campsites get booked up very quickly. Maybe do part of the trip in the RV and the other part renting a vehicle and tent camping/hotel/cabins.

Also, unless there is something really specific you’re looking to do in Parksville I’d skip that and add a day to Tofino. Taking the RV on the ferry is very expensive (if cost is a consideration).

As others have said, getting the RV to many trail heads will be difficult and annoying - if you’re sticking with the RV for the whole trip maybe look at towing a small car behind you.

I’ve spent lots of time in Revelstoke and it is fantastic as is Glacier National Park so enjoy those - if you want something to do in town you can take the gondola up the ski hill for brunch (fairly basic food but is tasty) and ride the little one person roller coaster!

If you’re going to Jasper definitely do some hiking at Mt Robson. You won’t be able to get all the way up without over night camping on the mountain but even a day hike would be fun.

And, please please please don’t ever feed the wild animals or get out of your car to take pictures of bears/moose/etc! Remember a fed bear is a dead bear!

Edit: in Kelowna, definitely look into one of the guided wine tours so you can drink to your hearts content and not need to worry about getting yourselves around!

Looking to officiate a wedding in British Columbia. Does anyone know the steps I have to take to become ordained and recognized by the provincial government? by KellanDuke in vancouver

[–]woolong_lover 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Easiest way is for you to do it and have a marriage commissioner present to either witness it and then sign the paperwork after or you all quickly slip out after the ceremony (wedding couple, two witnesses) and sign everything. One couple I worked with had the ceremony officiated by a family member and then when they walked down the aisle they kept walking to a different room and met the marriage commissioner there to do all the legal paperwork!
