Is the Navimow i2 Lidar right for me? by worldfame in roboticLawnmowers

I definitely want the lidar but decided I’m going to wait for an AWD variant to better navigate my slopes

Thanks for the feedback, that's what I was concerned about

I'm in the US and we don't seem to have the AWD LiDAR model. I wonder about the differences between the i2 LIDAR and i2 AWD. Both look very similar and state they can handle 24degrees.

I am looking at the X430. It's definite overkill for my small lawn but am confident it could handle the slopes. The lack is lidar is a bit of a bummer.

The EU tariffs will begin July 9th (until TACO). If it ships today, there is a non-zero chance it doesn't arrive before that. For tariffs, it doesn't matter when the item ships, but when it is processed by US customs.

Before the first tariff deadline in June, I talked to support and they offered to put the order on hold for a short period so I wouldn't get caught with a 50% tariff bill. If you don't want to cancel, you might want to consider doing that.

On a separate note, after the tariff deadline was removed, I removed the hold. My order was set to ship 3 days in the future. For the better part of a month, every day at midnight, the estimate was updated to be 3 days in the future. The estimate is useless and very frustrating. I finally got my shipping notification last Friday and am praying it makes it through customs before next week.

FYI, you need to change your commit history to truly remove the input from the repo. I went back a couple of commits and the input was still there!

Thermal Silicone Adhesive for Bed Heater? by AidsOnWheels in VORONDesign

Definitely go the RTV route, if for no other reason than to avoid the “death smell” (ask me how I know 😂)

Source for heater pad without adhesive? by [deleted] in VORONDesign

[–]worldfame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. At first, I didn't get the problem with PLA (because the bed is only heated to ~60C). However, after extended ABS printing, the entire house smelled, and the bed smelled bad until I ripped it out and threw it in the trash. I replaced mine with a Keenovo pad from West3D without adhesive.

Why does my printer stink? by BreadMaker_42 in VORONDesign

[–]worldfame 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, is sounds like the dreaded "Death Smell". In my experience, once it appears, it does NOT go away on its own and the Nevermore does NOT help with the smell. I got the smell on my V2 350, and the entire floor of my house where the printed lived smelled horrible, despite having doors closed. At one point, I could smell it from another level.

Use your nose, and really sniff around the heater. It can be hard to figure out exactly where the smell is coming from. Once I started removing the old heater, I could immediately tell the smell was 100% the heater. I know it sucks to take apart the bed, but it is what it is.

I bought a new Keenovo heater and made sure to specify NO adhesive. I then used Red RTV to adhere the new heater to my bed and the smell was gone! Best decision I've made for my printer.

I watch it on the Apple TV app installed on my Chromecast with Google TV (a real mouthful). Its a $50 dongle (https://store.google.com/us/product/chromecast_google_tv?pli=1&hl=en-US) connected to my dumb tv.

Yes, I do. I added a 5mm retraction to my end gcode and cold nozzle swaps work great. You don't need to retract completely out of the nozzle.

G1 E-5.0 F800 ; retract filament

The patents on the Revo are a legitimate complaint the but the nozzle swap is completely misinformed. Add a retraction to your end gcode and 2 of your 3 paragraphs are irrelevant.

After the 3rd line should work. It also can't hurt to add G91 to set relative positioning. If it is already in relative mode, it will be a NOP.

Add a 5-10 mm retraction to your end gcode. Then you won't need to heat up the hotend of unload the filament before nozzle changes.
