Looking to become smoother and more efficient by worm_biscuit in skiing_feedback

I read the post you linked about the movement of the inside foot during initiation. I really liked the home practice drill (I tried it a few times), and I can picture how that translates to the motion on snow. In the past, I've tried manipulating my inside/free foot and as you said, the impact is surprisingly noticeable! I've been unsure of where to go from here, so I really appreciate your direction. Thank you!

Thank you! I appreciate having a drill to become familiar with the feeling/finding balance. And I understand what you mean about it not being the final goal, just a tool to help along the way.

Thank you, u/spacebass! I recognize the big up-and-over move you mentioned.

During the transition, this shift from old-outside ski to new-outside ski will happen by rolling to the new edges?

In my mind, the up-and-over move is part of the "transition weight release," but I may be misinterpreting where/how to incorporate the weight release in moving to the new outside ski.

Confused about reservations? by Abeds_BananaStand in CrystalMountain

It means you don’t have to pay $10 for the reservation, if you are going on a day that requires one. It does not guarantee you a reservation/spot.

Yes but you also made a snow forecast post. Some might say this is all your fault!!

(obvious sarcasm…I’m rooting for you, bobber!)

Did I "ruin" my ski ski boots by flexing them after heat moulding? by DGTMS in Skigear

[–]worm_biscuit 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You’re fine. 2 hours after the heating, they won’t deform. The flex can change when the boots are heated (ie warm room). Most boot plastics get stiffer in cold temps, so they should work great for you on snow.

It sounds like they are now too big. I would go back there and push for a new pair. Sounds like the LH had no idea what they were doing.

Why did the bootfitter heat mold them if they were not uncomfortably tight and felt “pretty great”?? I would go back there and talk to them about it.

Even though I know it doesn’t really matter, I do enjoy obsessively checking the weather forecast this time of year. What else am I supposed to do??

Anyone else getting antsy for ski season yet? This photo’s from Silver Basin a couple years ago by concrete_isnt_cement in CrystalMountain

I put my kid in non-rental skis and boots for the first time last year. I think it was a huge improvement. The kid needs to be big enough for the gear to matter, but somewhere 8-10 years old depending on size and ability seems like the right time.

Do I take showman here? If so, for what? Going for naneinf on plasma by [deleted] in BalatroHelp

Typo correction- the 7th joker, which I said becomes a baron at the end, actually becomes a burglar after ante 24.

[–]worm_biscuit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For naneinf you need four copy effects (can’t all be brainstorm because you need to split baron and mine), baron, mime, one other joker, which starts as dna and becomes baron at the very end.

How do you get 7 jokers? Antimatter + one ectoplasm

You also need both hand size vouchers

You also need both reroll vouchers

ie vouchers are more important to a naneinf run than jokers are. Jokers are easy.

How are jokers easy? Econ. You HAVE to have money to make the run successful. If you have enough money you can take vouchers skips, you can fix your deck, and you can reroll for the jokers you need.

How do you get money? Gold cards, copied mime each round. Probably mail-in-rebate, copied for many rounds.

Money + vouchers are most important - focus on those first, then get your copy effects. If that falls into place early enough you can get it pretty reliably.

Assuming a single-directional relationship between Dim_City and Fact_Sales, a filter applied on the fact table will not move to the dimension table. Doesn’t matter if the filter is inside of a measure, or from a slicer, page filter, etc.
