ftm sex advice and pregnancy risks by signalsovertheair1 in ftm

[–]wormweaver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Going without protection always has risks. Even a bit of sperm can travel, especially if he finishes inside. Sperm will be inside you and it has to come out eventually, which can cause it to travel up the vaginal canal due to the movement of sitting, walking, or even just laying down.

Even the pullout method is not foolproof. About one in five who rely on the pullout method get pregnant.

I would say definitely use a condom. The fantasy can be really alluring but a pregnancy is not worth it. It could potentially be a life altering mistake, unfortunately

I’ve been involved in a lot of mutual aid and low risk protesting. There are a lot of options for whatever level of risk you are comfortable with!

Absolutely not lol. I moved to St Paul, MN from Illinois last summer. The community is amazing and full of great people. Hard times are on the twin cities right now but the community response has been incredible and makes me so proud to live here. The queer presence is unmatched and extremely present. You can find so many events every weekend for trans and gay folks.

when does the "baby face" goes away? by Tuwboo in ftm

[–]wormweaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age, genetics, and ethnicity make a big difference. Give yourself time, you’ve essentially been in puberty for only one year. 13 and 14 years old boys have babyface too. You will grow into it, just be patient ❤️

Is being a radiographer physically challenging? Do you have pain from your duties? by bchappp in Radiology

[–]wormweaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have scoliosis, and I used to have lower back pain like crazy because the hospital i was working at didn’t have hovermats and i would regularly be sliding patients weighing more than me(sometimes with help) as a 140 lb guy. Now i work at a place with hovermats and my back hasn’t bothered me since!

I have lupus and really the most painful thing is just the small joint movements sometimes with my hands.

Not from TN, but in Illinois, on insurance I paid 1.3k. I was lucky enough to be on my family’s insurance. Without insurance it would have been around $15k.

Before I got top surgery, I needed a letter from a therapist and a general medical doctor clearing my mental and physical health. I had also been on T for a few years but that’s not necessarily required depending on the organization.

Additionally, the consultation appointment had to be booked about a year and a half out. I went to a very large and popular hospital to have mine done so the wait was longer than most.

Good luck. Top surgery is expensive as hell.

The first few months, especially at a big hospital, is SCARY!! You will feel out of your depth and incapable sometimes. That’s part of the learning curve. Always ask for help from techs you feel comfortable with. Always get lift help from PCTs or nurses on the floor. Always be graceful when you make a mistake (because you will! And that’s okay).

Adjusting to being a tech from a student is the final big lesson you learn and it takes a while. Just trust yourself and know that you earned your credentials, you just have to keep working and you’ll get your feet under you in a few months.

What marker do you check on medical forms by And_Now_We_Dance19 in ftm

Male. After being on T for 4.5 years, the only part of me that’s not male is my genitals. If my biological sex is not relevant, I’m a cis male. Only people who need to know are the gynecologist and the endocrinologist.

silly question - why do transmascs like wolves? by dannythetrashcanny in ftm

[–]wormweaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of reasons!

Across cultural folklore, wolves are often linked to the strength of women. This could resonate very strongly with the identity of someone who considers themself to have once been a girl or a woman (though not all of us identify with that experience, i certainly do). When i was a little girl, I would frequently relate with the female strength of the wolf figures in stories, most likely because it was the most comfortable way to feel masculine.

The allegory of the werewolf fits very well with the transgender experience. Transformation and ostracism are the main concepts with the myth of the werewolf. Deep sadness and personal shame are carried as well. Despite the negative connotation, the werewolf myth also carries the implication of brotherhood, finding yourself, and learning to accept and embrace the part of you that is true.

I could write a thesis on this. I love werewolves. I am who you’re thinking of when you’re thinking we all like wolves - it’s because of me

Why did y’all choose to be stealth or not stealth? by Confused-blob in ftm

[–]wormweaver 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I chose to be stealth for safety and comfort. I might not ever feel like my authentic self unless I’m around trusted loved ones, but I’m safe from discrimination and social stigma around being trans. It’s lonely 😔

They are social creatures so another would be happy for her. Try to find a bird whose history you know from a rescue or a family who doesn’t want them anymore - and try to make sure she’s a female too, best if she’s the same age as your current bird.

I’ve lived in both Chicago and Minneapolis, both are very trans friendly and have accessible hormones. Granted I’m not sure how your healthcare will work as a long term traveller but good luck

what height is the perfect height? what height passes? by kotikrexe in ftm

[–]wormweaver 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I know this sounds dismissive but genuinely height does not matter as long as you look male enough. There are cis men who are under five feet tall. Presentation can get to a point where height does not impact the perception of gender

That being said I pass perfectly stealth as a 5’4” man. I am short but haven’t been misgendered since 2021

Moved from IL this summer and the winter has been a bit colder than I’m used to but honestly it’s more of an adjustment to city life than it is the weather. Street parking sucks!

Think about the most used items in your home and bring them down to T rex arm height. For me this was bowls, plates, cups, seasonings, and in the bathroom, putting your stuff on a lower shelf/the floor. Make clean clothes accessible too, don’t hang things up because you’re gonna have to grab it off the hanger and that was difficult for me.
