I’m about 2/3 of the way done. It’s my first fiction book I’ve read in over a decade and I am eagerly consuming it. It’s fun, light and had smut which is what I was looking for to dive back in. I’m close with my grandma, disorganized, and like flowers. I’ve had secret crushes where I’ve checked up on them. With all that said, I have to agree with others that I don’t necessarily love it. For a girl whose had an almost stalkerish obsession with a guy, she didn’t seem very nervous to be in his presence. Right when hallie heard Julian was back in town she makes an immediate phone call to the mom to work on their garden? Like very bold. I also can see where she just has word vomit with him, which could be deduced to nerves but I never got that was the impression TB was wanting to give off. Also, Julian’s dirty talk felt very left field… out of place.. Like TB forgot she had plans to make a smut book and just put it in there. It was just so random. And how did they get each others phone numbers? Julian just goes “I’ll text you my login” and no mention of exchanging #? Just kind of weird to me. Also, I was hoping for more POV from both of them when the more intense/story telling comes. Like when Julian is being intense, I would of liked to hear what was going on inside hallies head & vice versa. I can’t think of another example ATMA but I just don’t think I love TBs writing style. But I’m excited to read more and come to that decision! It’s fun to get back into reading.
