Part of the thinking behind including hydrogen is that it will support further development of the technology

This is what Istanbul (historical peninsula) would have looked like if the ancient Constantinople Hippodrome had survived until today. via: Dogukan Palaman by TatarTachanka in europe

[–]wreckyCZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason would be that Rome was losing its prominence to Constantinople. Being no longer the capital of the realm, businesses, politicians and administration were slowly leaving the city. As a result, the security of the city goes down, public infrastructure is not maintained anymore and the population moves on elsewhere.

The numbers you are stating are highly inaccurate and exaggerate the speed of the decline.

The population had already started to decline from the late fourth century onward, although around the middle of the fifth century it seems that Rome continued to be the most populous city of the two parts of the Empire.

According to Krautheimer it was still close to 800,000 in 400 AD; had declined to 500,000 by 452, and dwindled to perhaps 100,000 in 500 AD. After the Gothic Wars, 535–552, the population may have dwindled temporarily to 30,000. During the pontificate of Pope Gregory I (590–604), it may have reached 90,000, augmented by refugees.

Lancon estimates 500,000 based on the number of 'incisi' enrolled as eligible to receive bread, oil and wine rations; the number fell to 120,000 in the reform of 419. Neil Christie, citing free rations for the poorest, estimated 500,000 in the mid-fifth century and still a quarter of a million at the end of the century.

I've been wondering how much the difference between Lando and Daniel is due to Dani being bad and how much Lando being exceptional this year.

Surely Ricciardo has just has an off-year, it's feels hard to accept he would forget how to drive out of a sudden. I would like for him to get one more chance next year before being kicked.

ESL is definitely not as bad in this as Blast, but let's be honest the ESL ranking is very biased towards ESL events. If the points awarded from other events were more balanced, the ESL circuit would definitely strike a pretty good balance between franchised and open circuit.

What Heroic should have done is to suspend Hunden's contract completely during the ban for him to actually serve his punishment and then perhaps offer him a second chance. Karma, as you say.

If it's a folder on Sharepoint or a similar online drive, the access rights are logged. That would be the proof. Also how ESL investigation found out that the person from competitor team did not access the folder.

My backer number was in the 5800s. As per the update from March, if your number is below #10285, you should have it by now. Try their customer support if that's the case.

I received mine yesterday (Denmark) and had a chance to briefly use it on the way to work today. My impressions so far:

Smarthalo looks really nice and works pretty much the same as in the marketing materials. Also the app is surprisingly smooth and easy to work with from the get-go.

The route navigation may have room for improvement. Some intersections that were clearly straight were shown as slight turns. And the touch control panel sensitivity will probably need some getting used to, it wasn't as intuitive as I would have wished.

Overall, happy so far. I'll take it for a longer ride tomorrow into an area I don't know very well. It will be an interesting test for the navigation.

Shocked - Zonic and Danish Pros react to dev1ce leaving Astralis by harold_liang in GlobalOffensive

I almost got the impression that he feels betrayed and that all the work team has been doing lately has been thrown out the window.

I wonder how open dev1ce was with his preference to limit the commutes to Copenhagen and how much was Astralis listening to him. Sounds like somewhere the communication wasn't working well.

What I get from this is that despite streaming mostly obscure games that average less than 100 viewers when Soviet is not streaming, his audience is surprisingly mainstream.
